| I don't guess you really needed to know all of that but I am glad that I have rescues. I bought my Poodle from a breeder 14 years ago when I didn't know any better and she is still with me. I think you have to know what is best for you. I know that being a foster mom and my rescues have given me the best feeling that I could have. They are healthy now and have their own little quirks, not perfect like you might get if you paid big bucks, but I love them just the same. Good luck with Chloe! Have patience! She will come around but you just have to show her that the human hand is not all bad. And that life is good with you!! God bless you for getting a rescue! |

| I admire anyone who rescues a dog. What I understand is that not everybody is "chosen" as the new owner for such a special dog. I have not had a rescue dog before, and have only had one dog in my life on my own. I chose a Yorkie Pup and named her Suzi. The thought did not enter my mind choosing a rescue for a first dog. Mainly because I don't have the experience. Having Suzi, has been rewarding and I have done well with her.

| My Brandi was a rescue as well. She is 7 yrs old and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I've only had for six months but it's like I've had her my whole life. We have a very special bond. Sometimes I feel guilty because I feel like I don't give my cat the same attention. But that probably because she wouldn't let me. You know how cats are.....very independent. Anyway when I first bought Brandi home she was her hair was a mess. She also looked a little gangly and not very pretty. I couldn't really see her face. What I did was take her to the groomers and said cut it all off and lets start from scratch. Well six months later, Brandi's coat is beautiful and I can now see how beautiful a dog she is. No matter where I go with Brandi, people just want to pet her and comment on how cute she is. Even though she is 7 yrs old, she has the face and body of a puppy. She's only 5lbs. I brush her every day and give her a bath on average once every two weeks or so. In fact I just gave her a bath tonight. It's unbelievable to me how much I love her. With a little time, work and patience, Brandi is no longer this scraggly little yorkie I brought home. My Brandi has gone from the ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. And you can tell by the look in her eyes, that she is extremely happy and grateful that I brought her home with me. |
