| ![]() When I brought mine home they were very tiny (12 oz and 1 lb) so yes I worried about them all the time. I made sure they ate well and gave them nutrical. Chachi ended up getting diarhea and I took him right to the vet and got him on meds. They didnt have any more problems but I still worried untill they got to 4 mos old. Then I didnt worry as much

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | ![]() O my goodness...do I worry, ALL the time!! It drives my boyfriend nuts! After I read about Baby Bear, I cried and could not get any sleep, I was so paranoid that something was going to happen to Tobie and when I read about Toby's anesthesia reaction, I was soo worried something like that was going to happen to Tobie when he got neutered. I get paranoid when I leave him home alone...that there will be a fire in the apt. while I am gone or that someone is going to break in and steal Tobie.I also worry about if I am feeding him food that is good for him or if he is eatting like he is suppose to. I could go on and on but I won't to that to ya'll. I love this website but it has made me more paranoid about something happening to Tobie. So you are not the only one. | ![]() I dont think you can stop worrying. Veer is our first small dog. He has been with us now about a month and I still wake up so much to check where he is in our bed. ( dont want my husband to roll over him). If I put him down on his bed, below our bed. I wake up to see if he is comfortable and if he is sleeping ( he hates sleeping on his own, and he wakes up to see if its time for hi to come on our bed ) Every step I take I make sure he is not under my feet. I go around making sure there is nothing on the floor he could eat and fall sick. I would not have know the bliss and pain of raising a small dog, if not for my baby Veer. Wont have it any other way. |

| ![]() I'm right there with you - I worry constantly. I obsess over everything. I worry about how much she is eating, I worry about her getting injured, etc., etc. It has gotten better, though!

| ![]() I knew nothing when I first got Ellie...so no reason to worry. Then Ellie had a vaccine reaction and I joined YT. Now every little bump and spot and noise gets analyzed but it works for us because I've caught some issues with her this way. I am a bit more relaxed now when something goes wrong (if she hurts herself, etc.) because I have some idea what to do from studying all the time. If I wouldn't have gotten Ellie bile acids tested (seemed pretty much unnecessary to most), we would still be giving her NSAIDs after surgery and using the wrong anesthesia. Just remember though, there are 40,000 members here. So when looking at it that way, there aren't that many emergencies...

| ![]() Yes, I worry constantly about my little Tucker. I'm terrified we will drop a pill and not notice or that my husband will step on him. I've decided to give away all my inside plants. I'm so afraid he will eat a leaf that has dropped. It would kill me if anythiong happened to him. He is 4months old, and weighs 3.4lbs. I trained him with pads because I was afraid to take him out. Couldn't find a collar small enough. I was terrified a hawk would swoop down and get him. Now I take him for walks with a harness and leash. He loves it, but doesn't know he can do his "business" on grass. I'm just a worrier. It's hard when we love them so much. Tucker's mom |

| ![]() I worried a lot when I first brought Pao home and I still worry occasionally when he is being picky but its less worrying now since he is older. I worry when I have to board him when I go away but there are more and more small breed boardings now so that is good but I still worry. When he was a pup, I worry when he cries at night, I worry when he wouldn't eat, I worry when he was cold, I worry when he got carsick, I worry that we'd step on him or when he jumps down the couch eventhough he was 5lbs when we brought him home. I worry that he could catch something before he finishes his puppy shots, I worry that he isn't socialized properly if I wait for the shots to finish lol but I did wait and I got really worried when he had worms that one time, I was stuck to his side 24/7 and cleaning up his every wormy poop properly since he had diarrhea as well and could reinfect..And I worried when he had reverse sneezing and rushed him to the vet! Good thing I don't have to worry so much now..We replaced the coffee table with an ottoman so if he accidentaly bumped in to it, he won't get hurt coz he is really clumsy when he is playing, he'd walk right in to a coffee table. We also have a huge couch pillow sitting on the ground right in front of the couch so that when he jumps down, he lands on the big pillow which he loves because he won't use a stairs. Our mattress is put on the ground, no bed because we wouldn't want to worry about him jumping up and down the bed. He has clothes enough for the cold weather here and a car seat for him to settle in the car, no more car sickness thank God so I can bring him out for car rides and for the time being, he is eating well thank goodness!

| ![]() Suzi is my first little puppy too. AND I certainly was paranoid. I found YT A day after I brought my 9 weeker home. AND it did compound my worries, LOL . I did not know that A yorkie baby should not come home until 12 weeks. Everybody had great advice about Hypo attacks too. Of course Suzi did not want to eat much the first day ![]() YT has been A Godsend for me. Now I feel like I at least have the basics down, and have become further educated . YT has been there when Suzi had become sick for the very first time, and At the vet's I broke down and cried my eyes out. The same emotions and feelings had creeped up that I had from my newborn baby , I was a single parent with him, all alone. Now a puppy gave me the worries, and fears like any new parent experiences all over again. At least now with YT it is like have an instruction manual to turns to. YAY for YT ![]()

She's still under 2 pounds. Since she's been with me she's actually lost an ounce. Which worried me to death, but she hasn't gained or lost since then. I'm very concerned about that, but I'm trying my best. The girardia is actually going pretty well. She takes a liquid medication once a day and she has been a bit more active and there hasn't been any blood in her stool since she's started on the medication. Which is good. The only thing I'm concerned about is her passing it on to my other animals. As soon as she's better though, I'm getting her the girardia vaccine. | |

| ![]() My vet told me that once your dog has had giardia, it's pointless to do the vaccine (lol, believe me I asked too after Nikko had giardia!). She said that as your dog is getting it under control after having an outbreak, he is building the same antibiodies that the vaccine would give him. According to her, the vaccine isn't a guarantee anyways, and she generally just recommends against that vaccine anyways. Still, talk to you own vet. One thing this board has taught me is that among veterinarians there are a wide range of opinions on many subjects. Lauren & Nikko |
