| Can't see eyes Hi everybody, I posted my question in training section but got only two responds. I would like to hear from your experience more, what can help. If some products effective like pet silk gel. What robber band do you use and where to purchase it, also what size are better. This is original post: I have Sophie 7m old for two weeks. I comb her every day and make a ponytail but some of the hair is too short and soon after I'm done I see hair in Sophies eyes. More then it, the muzzle hair is partially standing up and together with pony covers Sophies eyes. Sophie didn't have a hair cut and I want to keep her hair long for now. I just wondering how you guys deling with this kind of problem. Do I need to trim her face hair or how to make my babies eyes open. When I see pictures of your babies I can see eyes clearly. But in my reality I am able to see Sophies eyes only for 10-15 min right after brushing, then her face pretty fast becoming hairy with barely seen eyes. Do you wash your babies face and eyes every day ? What do you use for daily toilet to clean a sticky secretions produced by eye - is it normal to have it for a dog ? |

| Good question!! I have tried everything...I even asked a groomer. She gave me some little rubber bands... I still have the hair in the eyes. I have tried water...but ended up using a little vaseline to keep the hair away from her eyes....I would like to know if there is anything else as well...

| I know exactly what you mean! I think it's just an inbetweeny sort of phase of growing a puppy's coat. My Maisie is now 8 months old nd this still happens a bit. I know some peeps use some sort of gel but I've not tried it so afraid I cant recommend any! I buy small hair elastics from my locoal chemist or on line boutiques. The other place you can get them is a Dentists as they use a perfect size band for Orthodontistry. The eye gunk is pretty normal I believe, just clean her eyes when she gets it. Use a moistened piece of tissue/towel and gently wipe it away or use a fine combe to combe it our once it's soft from the water on the tissue. Just make sure it's softened before you combe or it could hurt her. Hope this helps a little!

| I bought a grooming cd and she used just regular hair gel. You really don't need a lot just a dab. I've not use the pet silk so I don't know about it. Could you try and put a small snap barrette in the front to keep the hair up? I also started to put pig tails in Maggies hair since she had the stray hairs too. It seemed to help some.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | If you want a nice topknot...do not trim the hair at the bridge of her nose nor give her bangs. I like the petzlife gel...human gel works but not nearly as well. You can buy grooming bands or purchase a bag of little girl's hair bands at the drug store. There is a variety of sizes in that bag. Do not remove them with your fingers...clip them out.

| I attempted the rubber bands on Pepper but she won't stand for it and ends pulling the darn things out and breaking her hair in the process. I use the children's snap barrettes they come in a variety of sizes. In the past when I would put her hair up in a topknot or pigtails(really hates) I would use the itty bitty ones that you would use on an infant. I am forever checking the children's section of walmart, target, k-mart ect for barrettes or the terry cloth hair bands(don't break her hair but keeps it out of her eyes). If you get the really little ones you could put it down low between her eyes to keep the shorter hair out of her eyes. Pepper is a year old now and when her hair is down she looks like one of the beetles, I honestly don't know how she sees anything!!

| I find some very cute kids barrettes at Claire's. Don't know if you have one in your area. Another place to check are dollar stores.
