I attempted the rubber bands on Pepper but she won't stand for it and ends pulling the darn things out and breaking her hair in the process. I use the children's snap barrettes they come in a variety of sizes. In the past when I would put her hair up in a topknot or pigtails(really hates) I would use the itty bitty ones that you would use on an infant. I am forever checking the children's section of walmart, target, k-mart ect for barrettes or the terry cloth hair bands(don't break her hair but keeps it out of her eyes). If you get the really little ones you could put it down low between her eyes to keep the shorter hair out of her eyes. Pepper is a year old now and when her hair is down she looks like one of the beetles, I honestly don't know how she sees anything!!
