Just be careful with the broth and make sure it doesn't have too much sodium in it. You could try adding some plain yogurt or some baby food... if you try baby food, make sure there are no onions or garlic in it.

I can understand why you are upset ! I would be too If she did this then she is dishonest , unethical , and just plain wrong !

Your new baby is adorable , But even so, if you feel in your heart of hearts that you still want your original dog that you chose I would ask ( in a demanding way ) that the breeder prove the puppy you chose is the puppy you received and if it's not get your money back and go elsewhere. BUT if you are able to let it go and are bonding with your new pup than I wouldn't worry about switching her , but I would still contact the breeder and let her know how you feel. Regardless of weather you choose to keep this pup or not , what she did was wrong.

I understand the frustration and feeling of being "had" I would be upset just as you are, but for your sake, let it go and focus on your new baby. I believe that if you do this, you will not regret having her. That's a bum rap what happen but don't prolong the negative effect on you by dwelling on it. The longer you dwell on it, you allow it to happen to you again and again.

Post a picture of your baby when you can!!
:-) 3 thumbs up to you!!
Great post!

yorkie-mia -- Just wanted to say, welcome to YT. I am so sorry for what you have been through. I am sorry for the loss of your dear yorkie. This situation with the breeder is horrid. She will no doubt get whats coming to her -- whether or not you deal with her or not. I understand that your husband is attached to her. She is one adorable pup. I will pray that you will bond with her and treasurer her all the more.

Also, I love that your hubby is using the Vita-mix -- I love my Vita-mix -- most important appliance in the house!

Hi Yorkiemia,
I am sorry this situation is taking the fun out of having your new Yorkie. This question may have been answered already and I missed it (if so, sorry) but I was wondering if you talked with your breeder and if so, did she offer to let you come back and see the other females in the litter to ease your mind? If so, then you probably have the right puppy. To me, that would be the right thing for a breeder to do. I would think a good breeder would want their puppies to be happy in their new homes and if they sense some dissatisfaction, they would work to remedy it for their puppies sake. All of the breeders that are members here on YT love their puppies and want them to be happy in their new homes.

If she didn't offer to let you come and see the other female puppies, then I would suspect she switched them on you.

I have to say that your little girl is adorable. I hope things work out for you!

I know this was a slight rant .. but I am the person who will tell a prospective buyer No .. this is not the right dog for you ..if she did switch the dog or tell you a false weight thats not right .. its wrong .. but six pounds is still breed ... at a healthy size

EXCELLENT POST!!

Well I took the advice of some of you on this forum and confronted the breeder again and told her I knew this was not the same puppy I had chosen and listed all the reasons including the facial differences and the huge weight gain in only 6 days. She told me not to contact her again about this matter and did not address any of my concerns or attempt to explain the differences in the puppies other than the one whe had already given i.e. my puppy had been eating too much. She did not offer the names of the other puppy owners so I could see for myself that I did not have the largest puppy instead of the smallest one. So that answered the question in my mind that started this thread! With that behind me I have concentrated on getting to know Mia and have found out how smart she is. At 8 1/2 weeks she goes to the refrigerator and looks at it when it is time to eat. She has figured out where her food is kept. I obviously still haven't gotten her off the wet food yet. She climbs up our stairs already but she can't go back down. She is even getting the hang of potty training. Dare I hope?

A puppy can change a lot in a week. The muzzle and facial features do start start changing a lot between 6 weeks and 12 weeks. The only way you would know for sure would be to go see the other puppy if it means that much too you. I do hope you love your new puppy with all your heart regardless of her size.
I agree with what bjh stated, also, just wanted to mention as well that the "charts" are really just a guide. I've never had them be correct for my pups. I have very healthy "chubby" pups LOL, mine most top the charts and then end up 3 lbs. So I always let ppl know not to think the charts are bible.

I would hope that your breeder was honest. I can't imagine doing that to someone. I hope all ends well! Take care and congrats on your new baby!!!

I'm glad you got your answer even though I'm sure it's not the one you really wanted...

On another note, I'm a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason. Maybe that smaller girl wouldn't have worked out so well... maybe she would have ended up really sick. There is a reason that you ended up with the bigger one and I'm sure in no time you will love her just like you did the other girl.
