| ![]() If the breeder pulled a bait and switch on you, you should demand your money back. Too many red flags here. ![]() |

| ![]() I think you know what you should do. I'd be contacting her ASAP and tell her that you know she switched her.

| ![]() That is not a very nice thing to do to switch a pup. 6lb is still small but I still feel bad for you since you have felt something for the puppy that you have chosen already. I hope the breeder will at least make things right for you. Could you call and just insist that she switched because you just knew it? Just be confident and insist that she switched instead of asking her questions like "did you switch the pups?"..see what she says?

| ![]() The breeders scale may not have been accurate and the actual weight of the puppy at 7 weeks was probably more than what her scale showed. Also the vets scale could be off some too depending on the kind of scale they are using. I know I talked to a friend recently and she had taken her puppy to the vets and they kept weighting her and getting different readings each time, varying between 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. A puppy can change a lot in a week. The muzzle and facial features do start start changing a lot between 6 weeks and 12 weeks. The only way you would know for sure would be to go see the other puppy if it means that much too you. I do hope you love your new puppy with all your heart regardless of her size. |

| ![]() If I were paying that much money for something that I had my heart set on then I would want what I initially picked out. It shouldn't matter that she's already got the pup, most of the people on this thread is acting like she should just deal with it. She shouldn't. It isn't what she initially paid for.

We went to her house several time traveling over 3 hours to get there but we were always welcome to visit. We picked this litter because we liked the temperment and looks of both parents who were only 4 lbs. Also there were 3 females and she gave us FIRST PICK. So we could pick the smallest which I did and put a pink collar on her at week 7. I drove 3 hours to do so. Then 6 days later she is almost twice as big. Ok, I'm confused I admit it. I'm bitter. I admit that. I am also still greiving because I lost my baby last December and I haven't gotten over that. I am starting to doubt my sanity. Ya'll have been great today. Thanks to all of you! yorkie Mia | |

| ![]() I haven't decides for sure what I will do yet. My husband has become attached even though it has only been two days. It may be just something I will have to live with, but I am really not happy about it. I am so glad that I found this forum it has given me a way to vent! |

| ![]() When I bought my first Yorkie puppy 14 years ago I paid $500. There were 4 puppies in that litter 3 males and 1 female. The female was sold and I had the pick of the 3 males. I chose the smaller of the 3. About 2 weeks later I went to pick up my puppy and she was holding him when she answered the door. She brought him to the living room and I never saw the other puppies even though I could hear them in the other room. You know I had a gut feeling that this was not the puppy I picked out. He looked different and the way she kept him away from the other puppies. I told myself that it probably was my imagination and it had been 2 weeks since I saw him. I brought him home loved him dearly until he passed on last year. This summer I bought another Yorkie. There were 3 little girls. Small, medium and large. This time I picked the medium size one. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. Again I had to wait 2 weeks before I could bring my baby home. With this breeder all three of the puppies were together in their pen when I went to pick her up. Mine was wearing the orange collar that I had picked out and I just knew that she was the puppy I saw 2 weeks earlier. The breeder said that if I changed my mind I could pick one of the others because she was keeping one and she didn't care which one it was and somebody was coming that afternoon to take the remaining puppy. I told her that I hadn't changed my mind. I fell in love with her then and I still loved her and she was the one I was bringing home.

| ![]() I'm so sorry that this happened to you. There are bad breeders and it sounds like you found one. My point is that you should ask her if she still has all the pups and demand to see all of them together!! If not contact the Police and report her. At least it will make her think twice about doing it again. Also go to the Newspapers and your Local TV news. Get her name out there and people will stop going to her. Post her name everywhere you can think off. Give it time with the new baby. Your Hubs likes her already and so will you after you get over this upsetting event. Congratulations and Blesssings on the New baby... Can't wait to see pics of her!! ![]()

| ![]() QFT! Happens with us humans too >.>; I'm KNOW that I'm way lighter when I get weighed at the doctor's office! ![]() I'm really sorry about your puppy! Someone posted something about if you payed with a cheque you can stop the cheque (as long as it hasn't been cashed...) To call your bank and stop the cheque you'll need: the chq number, date, payee and exact amount to ensure a full stop. I'm glad your husband has bonded with the puppy, and I would be pissed about the situation just like you are! But by the same token if you believe that things happen for a reason, maybe there was a reason that you have the baby you have as opposed to the one you think it was switched out for. If the breeder is as shady as it sounds and you got a raw deal (and can't manage to do anything about it) then love the baby you have because that baby was meant to be with you. Good luck!

| ![]() I can't imagine an ethical breeder even wanting you to have a pup you didn't want to have. The size wouldn't bother me too much probably because I love 6 lbs but if this yorkie doesn't look like the same one, then that is different. I would call her or better email her so you have something in writing and tell her, the minute you saw her you knew it wasn't her but didn't know what to do. Tell her you were so counting on the other and you're very upset about this and would take $1000 back even though you pd. $1200 a few days ago. Tell her you belong to a yorkie site with 24,000 members and would like to be able to brag about how nice you are rather than the opposite. What do you think?? Easy for me to give your $200 away ![]()
