| I just saw this thread, and was hoping Missy was going to be ok! I am very sorry she had a bad night and in so much pain Poor little Missy. your vet will take good care of her, and make certain she will not be hurting .This is not your fault though! My Suzi was just like that as a puppy always trying to jump out of my arms outdoors! It is very heartbreaking when they get hurt , however they are wiggly and tiny, very fast and impulsive. PLease do not blame yourself. I hope for the best for Missy, and the vet won't have to do anything evasive. my thoughts and prayers are with you and Missy .

| I just got home for an hour and then we go back to the vet. I was silly and let Missy eat 1/2 oz of her food before we went. I was worried though, because she was shaking and she actually wanted to eat (where as she didn't earlier in the morning). So, now we need to wait until it's been 3.5 hrs after she ate. My vet is an hours drive away. So we drove home, get to eat lunch, and turn around and drive right back. I could have just left her there, but I won't do that. Poor Missy would be so lonely sitting there by herself. Then I have to drive back home to pick my son up from school, and see if she's ready to be picked up, and drive back again. Then, after I pick her up I have to race my son to his soccer practice. I will bring her with me in her crate to keep an eye on her. What a day! Anyways, the vet is going to try to just sedate her for the xrays, but she may need to put her under anaesthetic. It just depends how much they have to move her, and what positions she has to be put in, and how well she tolerates it. We will see. I have alot of trust in my vet, so I will just let her do what she has to do. She said it's definitely the elbow area that is bothering Missy. She can't do a really thorough exam though because Missy is just in too much pain. If it's obvious from the xrays what is wrong, then we will deal with what they find. If they can't tell what's wrong, then they will have to send the xrays to a specialist. She said it could get complicated because of Missy's small size and the fact that she's so young. It's hard to see what's going on with their little bones. Phew, will update on the outcome for those who'd like to know.

| Shauna, I'm so sorry Missy is still hurting. She has a good doctor and a great mom to take care of her - I'm sure she'll be as good as new soon! Give her plenty of hugs and kisses for all of us!!

| I had a situation with my 10 yr old son. He wrecked on his motorcycle, and hurt his hand. We went to my doctor. They took xrays, and never showed them to me. Then they sent me to a specialist with the x-rays in hand. That Dr. showed me the x-ray, and all that was wrong was the pinky knuckle that connects to his hand was ever-so-slightly moved over. The specialist said that he should wear a temp. cast for several weeks. He also mentioned that it would all straighten itself out, because he is still growing. So it's better to have things happen when they're young. I hope the x-ray shows nothing, and it's just still inflammed! |

Anyways, we are home until the morning, and then it's off to the specialist we go! Missy has a fracture My vet did xrays with just sedating her. Because she didn't put her under anaesthetic, she wasn't able to get good clear xrays, but she could see enough to know that she needs to see a specialist immediately. The specialist quoted me 3,000 -3,500 for her surgery tomorrow. I have to have her there at 8:30 a.m. She is on two different medications (I've paid $500 already in vet visits). I am really upset with the first vet that we saw on Sunday. He prescribed her more than double the dose of Metacam that she should have. It makes me wonder how much was in that shot he gave her. It was definitely enough to make her seem OK yesterday. She's eaten, taken her meds, and is now chewing a bullystick. Besides this, everything that can go wrong today... has. I've run out of gas, I've been late for appointments. The list goes on. Please make tomorrow a better day
