| If it is positioning and the pain involved, your vet may be absolutely correct about using anesthesia. If you trust him, I'd go for it. If not, I'd get a second opinion.

| Poor Lil Missy (and Shaunna too!) I hope she's better by morning so she doesn't have to go back to the vet. Curly Mac jumped right out of my arms and landed on a hard wood floor a couple weeks ago. She cried and cried for a good 15 minutes...and I mean real live tears! I held her close and she snuggled into my hair and then she was ok but she scared the bejeezers outta me! I was so glad nothing was broken and that she walked fine after that. I'm sure your lil Missy will be ok too, just love on her tonight and hopefully all will be well in the morning. xo, Shan and Curly Mac |

| Oh Shauna I'm so sorry, I know how sad you must be feeling. I am sorry I hadn't responded sooner, we were doing the whole SuperBowl thing and I just got home and saw this .. I had to look twice at the title and name that posted it, since I know how careful you are with Missy. It will be okay, she probably tore a ligament or sprained it a bit ... I remember when Gucci hurt his leg and how scared I was he was yelping and crying like NO TOMORROW and when I put him down it would fold under and he would immediately fall over and cry . The vet did the same for us and said it was likely just a soft tissue injury and it would heal on it's own. He was on bed rest for a full week and he was so sad that he couldn't come out and play.. even though he was using it mid-week he wasn't allowed to, otherwise the vet said he could make it worse and end up having to get surgery etc. It was a tough week but I was so happy when he was finally better and able to use it.You will see, Missy will be Ok she will bounce back and by tomorrow will be so much better. Please send her get well wishes and hugs and loves from Gucci and I!! You are such a good mommy, she is lucky to have you. |

| Accidents do happen but you did exactly what you needed to do in that you rushed her right to the Vet Whether it's broken or sprained she will heal But blameing yourself isn't going to make her get better any sooner I remember years ago our family had a little pug and my mother opened the patio door for her to go out and she hesitated and the last minute made a mad dash for the door My mom thought she wasn't going out and went to close the door just as she went to go through and hit her head Pug dogs have a terrible problem in that their eyes can pop out of their sockets if hit on the side I woke up to my mother screaming in the kitchen and ran down the stairs to see our dog with her eye almost hanging off her face Quickly I ran with a cold towel and put pressure there and literally sped to the vets office By the time we got there it was back in the socket But this type of thing goes to show you always get them to where they need to go as soon as possible

| Thanks everyone for your posts. Missy's got some spunk back today, and she will let me touch her leg, massage it a little, and move it very gently. She moves it around on her own but still isn't stepping down on it. I am going to drop my son off at school and then call my regular vet. I'm thinking that they will likely want to have her in for an xray today. I will update again when I have more news. I really appreciate all of your support and advice. YT is the best. I don't know what I'd do without you all.
