Well, Sorry that you feel that way about me. I cannot control at what age she is going to sell them at, so to me getting her to reconsider and sell them at 9 weeks is much better than six weeks. It isn't my fault she did this.

My breeder let me have mine early, she knew I was home 24/7, was older with no little kids, the puppy was good size, eating well, and she knew I had dealt with hypoglycemia( a maltese I got that was supposedly 8 weeks in NC, was more like 5 weeks), so, she said no problem. she was a good breeder, other than she was off on the weight, but, everyone would have been by going by the charts, plus both the parents were in the 4 lb range, the mother closer to 5 lbs. I got the throw back. She will be 6 this month, and other than being a chunky monkey and occasional reverse sneezing attacks, she's fine. If you go to shooterdog.com there are some good breeders that let theirs go at 8-10 weeks

No, but you can control who you sell them to and you can control when you sell them.

To the OP. What makes you think that you are so much better than this other person that makes you qualified to breed and not her?

And Just because you have dealt with hypoglycemia and have had experience and are older and no kids, that still does not make the puppy ready to be taken from it's mother at 7 weeks.

8-10 weeks old for a yorkie puppy is way too young and not at all the reccomended standard I do not agree going to any internet website, to look for a breeder at all either

Have you ever looked at shooterdog?
Shooterdog is very highly recommended, and they interview a lot of different breeders, maybe you should check it out.
And to the op, excuse me, I've had dogs over 50 years, and never had a problem out of any 6 week old pups I've gotten, except the one from NC that I know now wasn't even 6 weeks, as she didn't even have any teeth, therefore, couldn't eat her food. Everyone always puts people down and breeders just because of the YTCA, not everyone goes by what they say. I love getting my dogs earlier as long as they're healthy. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, believe me, there are a lot of you that voice yours, and I have a right to voice my own

I feel so bad for these little puppies.... How sad . If you have had over 50 years of experience , then how come your not doing whats ideal for the Yorkie breed ? hummm ? I am done with this thread.

Did I say somewhere I've had yorkies 50 years? As I said, I raise my pups very well, they have a very good life. Where besides YTCA do you get your info? No, you said dogs... I am specifically talking about the yorkie breed. What does crate training have to do with this thread btw, I have not used crates either...I was just concerned about letting a Yorkie baby go before 12 weeks old . they need time to learn socialization skills from their littermates and mother , and be so tiny they are more prone to Hypo. eposoides. This is common knowledge.

A lot of little dogs go in the create when they get scared or are tired because they do see it as there "room". Its also safer for them so the dont get into things that can hurt them!

I disagree with you on this point. By selling her a dog that wasn't altered you are in a way at fault.

I'm trying to be nice, I understand where you're coming from. But, I'm asking where did the info come from as far as the age these pups should leave their moms? And socialization, as far as I'm concerned that's b.s as I said, the ones I've gotten at an older age have been (except for the last one) harder to housebreak, and have bitten me more than any I've ever gotten at 6 plus weeks. Also, yes, if the yorkies are weaned, eating well and are a little bigger and healthier, I also don't have a problem with them leaving at 6-8 weeks, now if they're smaller and not eating well, yeah, then I feel they need to stay a little longer, but, not so much for the so called socialization. I'm using the "crates" because so many believe in crate training, because everyone says this is the way to go. I'm saying who says it's the right thing? Dogs can't talk, so how can people say it's the best thing??

8) All puppies leaving the breeders possession will be a minimum of twelve (12) weeks
of age to facilitate adequate socialization as well as appropriate emotional and
temperament development through interaction with siblings, dam and other dogs.
