| ![]() I agree with this--in the 15 years since moving in, you never did a new lease?? Is there any way to maybe get a copy of one of the other pet owners leases(to see if their's states any pet policy)?? Also--how high is your rent?? Is he maybe being an a-hole bc you are locked into a certain rate, and if he evicts you he can get more money?? I would also take pics of the cats--or old vet bills showing you previously had pets and it wasn't a problem. I am sorry that you are going thru this. Good luck. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() I'm so sorry, i have no experience with that but i hope everything works out for you. I hope you get to keep Princess. Maybe you can make her a service dog and tell them she is for your daughter because of her condition and that way she cant be refused.

| ![]() I was going to say the same thing Cindy did. If the doctor can provide documentation, then I believe there's nothing they could do regarding eviction. I'm not sure if you'd have to license your yorkie as a service dog, but I've heard that is not hard to do as long as you have a doctor's recommendation. Good luck! Quote:

| ![]() Such a sad story... i really hope all will be well.. but heres an idea.. u know sometimes people deserve to be fooled... we also were residing at a place u were not allowed dogs.. and we had a yorkie 4 pounds...for years there and no one knew about it.. we had a pee pad indoors and we had the tv or radio on a little louder than normal ..just in case... and when we took him out he would get into the big handbag go down the elevator to the car and then get out of the handbag ![]() We were happy and he was happy and no one every knew we had a dog.. i would just tell the F*rt we do not have the dog anymore. Out of sight out of mind ! ![]() |

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Oh I am sorry to hear of your situation. I would try and get a petition going from the other tennants and take photos of the other tennants who have dogs there..and let the judge know that YOU are being singled out...make the landlord prove that he is taking action against the other dog owners....try to play on the judges sympathy! Good luck and keep us posted.

Most owners are not going to fight the law, but you have to have the right docuementation and it needs to be worded the right way. I have been through this myself, but asked for reasonable accomidation before I got the puppy and brought her home. What makes me upset about your situation is that their are other tenats with dogs in your building. A pitbull is far more risky then a little Yorkie. HAs there been any complaints about your dog? LIke barking or anything? I do not get why the landlord is making it such a big deal about a little Yorkie? Has other tenants with dogs got a eviction notice? Could you take pictures of these animals in your building? Sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire! I wish you the best, and i think you have a good case to win. Just be certain that you have good docuementation. ![]()

| ![]() I really doubt any of your neighbors would get involved, because that would be putting their happy home at risk. I would definitely try the service dog route, or like someone said, hide her.
