My Doggie Hates me

Absolutely agree that sudden change in behaviour warrants a vet visit!!!

Also, has she already had the Rabies vaccine? I've heard of dogs having a reaction to it that makes them very aggressive. Most vets don't give the Rabies until 4 mo. or 6 mo. or older even, so it's a longshot, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

The other thing I am wondering is due to the fact she is only three months, and you've already had her for a month. That means you got her at 8 weeks, is that correct? Puppies learn a GREAT deal of manners, bite inhabition and general socialization between 8 and 12 weeks, so if it's not a medical issue, you probably need to contact a dog trainer or behaviorist as that behavior needs to be nipped in the bud quickly, which is what her mommy would have done.

Yes, definately get her to the vet ! something is going on, and that is the only way for your baby to tell u she is not feeling well. Keep us posted on what is happening to her .

Well... first of all: DOGS DON'T HATE!!!!

From what I was reading you were very loving and sweet with her, you pampered her and carried her around so what you experience is IMO the typical behaviour of an insecure dog that doesn't accept you as the pack leader. There is a wealth of information out there about that and your best bet seems to be to take your baby to puppy classes and learn about leadership...

Besides that, I also opt for the vet visit just to make sure there is nothing bothering her...

I decided to work with her. I let her sleep the night. I didnt think she was in pain because she was not crying at all. Plus she was not aggressive with my boyfriend. I just took a day off and stayed home with her to give her lots of attention and positive association with me. Took her for walk bought new toys and played with her. She is doing much better. I signed her up for puppy classes and she begins this Saturday also has and appointment to the vet on wed.
Thank you everyone for your quick responses. She is doing much better but not a 100% yet. Every once in a while she still wants to bite and growl. Again in an very angry way.

You took the words right out of my mouth. We got Zoeybear when she was 8 weeks. She never learned not to bite. Baby Chloe was much older when she left her mother and she never bit or "mouthed." Glad to hear she is doing better.

This is very good advice. A vet check is a good idea, but if it shows nothing then I would agree. You have pampered her and spoiled her and gone out of your way to accommodate her, therefore she has concluded that you are subordinate to her. Think of her as being a spoiled 2 year old.

You are not behaving as a pack leader by requiring anything from her, so she has come to the conclusion that she is the boss.

Do not respond to her demands, totally ignore her when she misbehaves. No touch, no talk, no eye contact. Start teaching her a few simple commands such as sit and stay, and make her do this before you feed her.

It appears that she was taken from her mother before she was taught proper dog etiquette. She will learn, but it will just take longer and you will have to be very persistent.

Mine too! I went through, and still am to a much smaller degree going through the exact same thing having received Maci at 7weeks...(17wks now)
with training her that it is not acceptable to bite me by loudly saying "OUCH" and immediately putting her down and ignoring her she has got the message that it is not ok...she is sooo much better now..still working on her not to bite my socks when I walk! They need that sibbling play so they understand that biting hurts among other things...

Is your dog around other people ...family members, friends, children? Particularly in your absence? She could have had a bad experience with another person or even animal. But I agree the first step is to go to the vet ASAP, she can definitely be hurting. Please keep us posted!!
