| ![]() Hard decision. I'm in the midst of making up my mind. I am getting Deegan neutered October 6th, and I want to get which ever one I choose while he will be under anesthesia, so that he doens't have to go through anymore pain. There are pros and cons to both. Yeah, a chip will only help if people want to return the dog, or if the vet scans to verify that the animal is with the proper owner. That is something that I would be willing to pay for. Chips can migrate through the neck, and can make it difficult to find. Tatooing is visable. But again it's only good if the next vet that the animals see verifies that it is with the proper owner, which not all do. Tatoo's also fade over time. I'm so confused with what to go with.

| ![]() I have one of each. I think after thinking about it I am going to get my chipped dog tattoed as well. I like that it is visible, I like that even if it is altered the dog is still tatooed and that raises suspicion immediatly. And I am also concerned about the availability of the scanners in some areas. I have not done any research on the pain factor but I will. Mignon was tattooed as a tiny baby, she wasn't put under for the procedure. |

| ![]() As I said in my earlier post, Deegan is getting neutered on Oct. 6th. And I want to get him either chipped or tatooed. But I havne't quite decided. I think chipped because it new technology. But I jsut spoke to my bf, and told him that I am thinking about getting it done while he's gettiner neutered and he blew a gasket. I think it's because it's an extra $85, but he says it's because he doesn't trust a foreign objsect being under his skin. He seems to think it will be uncomfortable or cause an illness like cancer later on. Anyone have any thing that I can tell him to ease his mind?

| ![]() Bella doesnt seem any different, you cant even tell. Its the size of a grain of rice, TINY. As far as causing cancers and such, I havent heard of anything like that ever happening.
