Hard decision. I'm in the midst of making up my mind. I am getting Deegan neutered October 6th, and I want to get which ever one I choose while he will be under anesthesia, so that he doens't have to go through anymore pain.
There are pros and cons to both. Yeah, a chip will only help if people want to return the dog, or if the vet scans to verify that the animal is with the proper owner. That is something that I would be willing to pay for. Chips can migrate through the neck, and can make it difficult to find.
Tatooing is visable. But again it's only good if the next vet that the animals see verifies that it is with the proper owner, which not all do. Tatoo's also fade over time.
