| should I add bichon to our family? Well, I have been wanting another pup for a while now. Remy is 11 mos. old and I was planning on getting another yorkie at some point. But, I came across a lady in my town who is having to re-home her 11 mo old bichon for financial reasons. She is getting a divorce, moving, and getting a 2nd job-hardly the ideal scenario for a young puppy. She is upset and it is hard for her to do but she knows it is best for the dog. Right now, he spends the majority of his life in a crate b/c she simply doesn't have the time for him. Remy is 8lbs and Max, the bichon, is about 10 lbs...they are exactly the same age, sex, both neutered, and only 2 lbs difference in weight. And from what she tells me Max is as playful as they come...so he will be perfect for wild-man Remy. I had my heart set on another yorkie BUT, after this sad story I feel that I must save this little guy and at the same time, give my Remy a lifetime friend. I have heard great things about bichons regarding temperment. Anyone have experience with bichons and does this sound like a good idea!? Thanks in advance & sorry I have been MIA-just crazy busy!

| yeah i have heard they have a great disposition with other dogs and people. Remy does great with all other dogs but I am wondering how he will do when one actually comes to stay-for good. on his 'turf.' We are getting the two together for a few playdates before I decide!

| Oh I just lost my dear little male bichon at the age of 16 years. I had him since he was 6 weeks old. He was "my" boy and the most loving of any dog I have ever had. I don't think you could go wrong with a bichon. |

| I've never had a Bichon...but from what I've heard they have great temperments!! And I think it's absolutely wonderful of you to look at rescuing...instead of adopting a baby!!! You should take Remy over so you can see how they interact!! IF they get along WONDERFULLY...then you'll know!! Good luck to you, Remy and the rescue!!!

| You won't be disappointed in a Bichon I have an almost 15 year old, and he is the most sweet, loving, kind disposition I've ever seen in a dog. They are devoted and love to play with other dogs. He has been my heart since he was 10 weeks old. The only issue I've ever had with him is it took me two years to get him potty trained, lol. But they may be because he was my first dog.

| I breed Bichons so I can tell you (if it is a well bread bichon) You will absolutly LOVE it. they are sooooo wonderful!!!! they get along with everybody,,human canine and feline! their temperment is GREAT, they dont shead, they LOVE TO PLAY especially with other dogs and cats, so your yorkie will get a run for his money..lol..I was breeding bichons before I got my Yorkie Riley, and they accepted him the second he came in the door...I we kept one of the puppys from the litter, we named her chloe, and Riley and Chloe are one month apart in age,,and they are INCEPRABLE!!! they play ALL DAY LONG, they sleep together they eat together, and bichons are bread to be lap dogs, so you will get plenty of love too.. they are just sooooo sweet and loving dogs very smart and eager to please. they love to play but are not overly hyper, and they listen very well..one piece of advice I can give you is to get a good groomer or learn to to it yourself,,they do require very regular grooming. they do have an undercoat but since they dont shed, they must be brushed everyday! and bathed every couple weeks, you can keep him in a longer bichon cut or keep him shorter, if you choose to keep him a little shorter he will need to be trimmed once a month at least,,,Ill include a pic of out mamma and her litter,,the puppys are 7 months old now,

| I would most definitly reccomend getting one! My childhood dog who is still with my parents is a Bicheon Cockapoo cross, and she was the smartest most gentlest dog in the world. She never chewed anything, never barked much or messed in the house, always stuck close to us when she was off the leash, just an all around great dog. We got her when I was 13 and I'm now 27 and she's still going strong! Although ours wasn't a pure bread, I think we got the best of both breeds which also helped to make her a great little girl. I will definitly look into getting the same mix in the future. |

| Adjustment Yorkie and Bishon We just added a Bishon (13weeks) to our happy lil family. We have a 1 year old yorkie. For the most part of the day my yorkie barks at him continously and chases him, constantly has the puppy in a submissive position or nipping at him. The Bishon gets back at him too, but not as much. He is soo lovable and calm Im afraid that my yorkie is too hyper for him. Is this normal behavior? When should I been concerned? I know that my Yorkie is a lovable lil guy however he is so stressed... I can tell he has a hard time even eating I have to sit next to him to encourage him to eat. Will this get better? |

| I would do it. Bichons are great and my pups have bichon friends. You know, I was in the same boat as you a while ago. I head my heart set on a second poo, but then Chachi my chi came along and I wouldn't have it any other way! He and my Molly poo are best friends. It could work out great for you. With Izze---I would have never gotten a yorkie (always scared of terriers); but she was a blessing. Blessings come unexpectedly and if you like this little guy---get him. You'll be doing a good thing, you'll get a buddy for your baby, and he will give you love forever. |
