Default should I add bichon to our family?

Well, I have been wanting another pup for a while now. Remy is 11 mos. old and I was planning on getting another yorkie at some point. But, I came across a lady in my town who is having to re-home her 11 mo old bichon for financial reasons. She is getting a divorce, moving, and getting a 2nd job-hardly the ideal scenario for a young puppy. She is upset and it is hard for her to do but she knows it is best for the dog. Right now, he spends the majority of his life in a crate b/c she simply doesn't have the time for him. Remy is 8lbs and Max, the bichon, is about 10 lbs...they are exactly the same age, sex, both neutered, and only 2 lbs difference in weight. And from what she tells me Max is as playful as they come...so he will be perfect for wild-man Remy.

I had my heart set on another yorkie BUT, after this sad story I feel that I must save this little guy and at the same time, give my Remy a lifetime friend. I have heard great things about bichons regarding temperment.

Anyone have experience with bichons and does this sound like a good idea!?

Thanks in advance & sorry I have been MIA-just crazy busy!
