Mine did not cry, I am amazed at my good fortune. Lacey was so small, though, I arranged her kennel in a way that I could block a space for her to get to her pee pee pad and food/water but still get back into her kennel without getting loose in the house. I also put a favorite, soft/fuzzy toy, a warm blanket in their kennel as well. I think it helps, too, to touch them often, their paws, face, ears and talk softly when you handle them. My yorkie book gave that advice and now they let me do just about any to them at bath, brushing, teeth brushing, etc. Or, I was just darned lucky.

Yes, it is normal. Just put yourself in her shoes. You've just been taken away from your mother, your siblings, and the place that you called home. Maybe you've never slept by yourself at night either. Combined with new strange people, and strange surroundings.
This would upset you too. Just be patient with her. She might cry for a few nights, maybe even a week. But just let her cry. Otherwise you will teach her that if she cries long enough, she will get her way. And I know you don't want to do that. It's hard for us all - we've all been through it, but it will be better and easier in the long run. You don't want to have to try and crate train her later on, because it will invovle alot more crying and take longer to do.

Thats just what we did. We even raised the kennel up off the floor a bit so she could see us sleeping. It worked.

If you have anything from the mother or other puppies - put it in the kennel. Our breeder gave us a blanket that had been in with the puppies. We didn't wash it till Rowdy was completely adjusted to his new home. Fortunately, he didn't cry more than 5 mins the first couple of nights. My sister in law puts a ticking clock and a hot water bottle - not a heating pad in the kennel.

Its really weird cause she will cry when I put her in there and I'm in the same room as her talking to her. I guess it will just take time....just wanted some people to say they have been through the same thing so I didn't feel like the only one ever to go through this!

I put Daisy's crate on my nightstand so that I could slip my fingers in there when she started to cry. It worked really well, and within a few nights she wasn't crying at all.

put her crate in your room next to her bed. That may help.

Misty would cry unbearable when i put her in the crate downstairs at night, but we just brought the crate upstairs and put in next to my bed and now she doesn't make a peep!

Thanks to everyone's advice it really worked!

I there.....I have had Chihuahuas that would cry alone in their crate and I put a wind-up clock that ticks under something in their crate and that helped them alot. I also put a little soft toy for them to cuddle with. Hope this helps.

Chloe has never cried, but I think its because I put a little soft Teddy Bear and a blanket in her crate. She can't wait to go to bed at night. That is the only time she is in her crate. When I am in my office (gabbing on YT) I have her in her playpen with all of her toys.
