| ![]() My Bently goes to sleep about 3 minutes into the ride. When he is awake he's up looking around at everything going by. Your dog's problem might be if he's looking out a window straight down and getting motion sickness. Try taking him somewhere and putting him down low so he can't look out the window. Good luck. ![]() |

| ![]() My lil Romeo gets sick too. Not as much now, I believe he is getting used to it. He does much better when he's in my lap getting some fresh air out the window. For him not being able to see out the car makes him sick. I'm thinking of getting him one of those snoozer seats too. I'm not sure if small size has anything to do with it. Romeo is about 5 lbs. Also he throws up a lot less in my 4-dr luxury car than my husband's Mustang, which is also a stick shift. I've noticed if the ride is smooth, he'll do okay, but a bumpy ride where the gears are shifting or there are bumps in the road he definitely gets sick!! I've also gotten the advice of not feeding them right before they leave. So there should atleast be an hour between the last time they eat and the car ride. From my experience, make the ride as smooth as possible (sometimes my dh makes fun of me for driving so slow, but it goes a long way if my baby doesn't throw up!!) with not too sudden accelerating and/or braking. I hope this helps, good luck to you. Keep us updated.

| ![]() Camden gets carsick, really bad! We have tried Comfort zone and Homeopet travel anxiety and they didn't help at all! We have tried a small dosage of dramamine and that did help, but it makes them a little sleepy. So I would use that for longer trips. We haven't tried ginger snaps or Rescue Remedy!

| ![]() Hi , First of all, always have your puppy in the back seat, and secure. You can buy dog harnessess for the car. It is like a seat belt especially made for a dog. The problem with the front seat is that is you have to stop suddenly your baby is going to get seriously hurt. AND Front seat air bags will kill your dog if they deploy. My suzi gets car sick too... I have been told it is more out of fear or anxiety that they vomit. suzi pants real hard and has her tounge out too. She vomits only once and that is all. I am trying new things to help her feel better. She is 7.5 lbs. and nearly 6months .She has always gotten car sick too..

Loved by Alfie & Evie Donating Member | ![]() I asked the Vet about car sickness... she advised using Pediatric Benadryl... .25 of a teaspoon... (Alfie is 4 pounds). On the way to the vet he didn't get sick.. for the first time. We kept him out of the carrier and held him.. this seemed to help. The only thing that did happen was he pee pee'd all over my husband... ![]() ![]() The Vet said he may grow out of it.. but for now to try the Benadryl and then if that doesnt work we could find something else.

| ![]() Cash has gotten car sick. We let him ride right by the window so he can look out, otherwise he will get sick.

| ![]() I hope I am not doing something wrong by asking this if I am please feel free to delete this post. I will not be offended. I am just looking for a car seat for Cooper and I though maybe someone had an extra one they were not useing anymore or whatnot, and were willing to part with it,,

| ![]() Only one of my four has ever gotten carsick, but it's coincidentally the same one I'm about to take on an airplane. I just called my vet to see if there's something I need to give her before the flight. It's been such a hassle to get all this scheduled, I hadn't even thought about airsickness until I saw this post. As far as the carsickness in general, we don't usually take our girls on long trips, but they always do fine in the car. Jasmine's only episode was when we were bringing her home. It was about an hour drive, and she had never been in a car. I asked for towels to take with us in case she got sick. She did fine until we were literally three minutes from our house. An odor of skunk spray permeated the car, and she almost immediately started gagging then started throwing up. I still don't know if it was the trip, the odor, or a combination of the two that made her sick. |
