| is this rude? I was invited to a BBQ by a co-worker. He lives over an hour away. I know he likes dogs because he talks about how he adores his maltese. Is it rude for me to ask if I can bring my yorkie to his party? If I leave him home I have the expense of the dog walker and Romeo just luvs car rides and is well behaved when we visit people.

| If he likes dogs and he makes that known, then I don't think it would be rude to ask as long as you make it clear that it's okay to say no. It would be rude to take a pet without asking, but in my opinion, it doesn't hurt to ask.

| I don't think so. BBQ's are outside events, and if he is well behaved I don't see a problem with it.

| I would not think it rude at all to ask, but be prepared for his answer. I am paranoid about strange dogs coming into my home. Even though my guys have had their shots and their guys have had their shots sometimes dogs bring with them NEW germs that my guys have never been exposed to and don't have a resistance against. So, unless I know the people VERY VERY well I never ever allow strange dogs in my house. HAVE FUN AT THE BBQ! |

| Noooo - I wouldnt think it to be rude at all! However - I do think its rude of us to bring our babies and NOT ask first. I would say: "Now you know I take my babies everywhere with me! She'll have a ball with your baby... Bringing mine wouldnt be a problem - right"? Im sure everything will work out great! Plus your babies will get some time with other pups. They can never have too much socialization. Honestly - if he speaks of and owns a small dog - Im sure he knows you would want to bring your baby and probably already suspects you are so hasnt brought it - unspoken but known! ~ Sky Last edited by Sky Fox; 08-09-2008 at 06:55 PM. | It's not rude. I was invited to play tag football, and I asked if I could take Maximus. It was my first time to visit her new home, and I told her it was cool if she said no b/c I knew it was a new house. She has 2 dogs of her own. She said yes and was excited that her babies would be playing w/mine. She did ask about shots and potty training. Max was 95% potty trained so I took his Miracle spray just in case. Now, she invites Max and me at the same time.
