Im sure everything will work out great! Plus your babies with get some time to play with other pups. They can never have too much socialization. Honestly - if he speaks of and owns a small dog - Im sure he knows you would want to bring your baby and probably already suspects you are!

Not trying to be rude to you, but...You're leading the witness, as it would be said in the court room. Please don't take offense to that statement sky. I personally, just wouldn't approach it that way. I would just say, First, tell me no if you really don't want me to bring him/her, But do you mind if I bring my dog with me to the BBQ? You won't hurt my feelings if you tell me no.
