Not trying to be rude to you, but...You're leading the witness, as it would be said in the court room. Please don't take offense to that statement sky. I personally, just wouldn't approach it that way. I would just say, First, tell me no if you really don't want me to bring him/her, But do you mind if I bring my dog with me to the BBQ? You won't hurt my feelings if you tell me no.
