Noooo - I wouldnt think it to be rude at all! However - I do think its rude of us to bring our babies and NOT ask first. 
I would say: "Now you know I take my babies everywhere with me! She'll have a ball with your baby... Bringing mine wouldnt be a problem - right"? 
Im sure everything will work out great! Plus your babies will get some time with other pups. They can never have too much socialization. Honestly - if he speaks of and owns a small dog - Im sure he knows you would want to bring your baby and probably already suspects you are so hasnt brought it - unspoken but known!
