| Bully sticks...are they stinky? I just bought some for Chewie... I'm at work so he hasn't tried them yet...but once they start chewing on them, do they get rank? I got a 3 pack of 7inch ones....and I think I got ripped off paying $9.99 but oh well. Every store near my house doesnt have them so once I saw them at this Petco near my work, I just grabbed a bunch. How do they respond to being chewed on?

| Any Bully stick mine have ate stink but I HEARD there are some available that don't or at least stink less. They LOVE them, but, as always you have to watch over them while they enjoy because they can become a choking hazard...Good luck!! |

| I buy mine from a YT member. Her username is AMD and her website is WestbrookDog.com They do not smell and the cost is very reasonable. |

| I bought some bully sticks from that member a while back, but I found them to be pretty smelly. I wonder if they're different now?

| I just bought a Merrick Bully Stick and gave it to my pup last night. Some people think they smell really bad, but honestly- to me they just smell like beef jerky! My pup LOVES it and I bought it for him to chew on while I'm at work. I gave it to him last night as a "test" to make sure he liked it and he chewed on it for almost 2 hours straight! I had to take it away so that he would go to bed. Anyway, I think I'll try different bully sticks from that YT member just to mix it up. oh yeah- I forgot to add that the Merrick Bully Stick DOES make Wall-E's breath STINKY!!!! I don't want him to kiss me with his stinky bully breath! Last edited by CharBar; 08-08-2008 at 10:53 AM. |

I WENT CRAZY AND KILLED THEM ALL (HOPEFULLY) and threw out that stick before u can even say "bully stick". y did this happen? where are we supposed to keep them when they are not being chewed on. im rally freaked out about it now cuz i dont want ants around my babies... they freak me the hell out. |

| I tried the Merricks and had to throw it away....I couldn't take the smell of it. My poor babies were like...mommy I want it...nope right in the trash. SexyJessi257 - to answer your question...I really don't know...lol I buy the smaller bully sticks and they are gone by the end of day. Maybe suggest wrapping it and putting it in the fridge? |

| It depends on the quality and the type of stick. I carry a bunch of different sticks on my site so we've gotten to try a lot of sticks! The Bully Stick Jr's (the skinny 5" and 7" ones) are steer sticks, not bully sticks, and it does make a difference. I'm surprised you guys say those don't smell because I think they do. They smell like flossies, which makes sense because flossies are also steer sticks, which have a stronger odor. True "Bully" sticks are denser and usually thicker than steer sticks and if they are high-quality and (eew) drained and dried properly, they will at least not stink up the whole room. The best part is that since they are denser they last longer!

SexyJessi257 - don't leave them out when they aren't chewing on them. I pick them up and put them on a counter or table. I take them away when they get to be too small because Loki will go and hide in the closet and put the whole thing in his mouth because he knows I'm going to come and make him spit it out... so we just try to avoid getting to that point. I've never had ants come after them (they usually dry back up after an hour or so of them chewing on them) but once they get down smaller than 3-4" or so I pick them up when they aren't actively chewing them.
