| In her defence...I have to say i know how this person feels. I had almost the same situation when i came to YT..I to did not get a warm welcome. I was attacked about not knowing about the puppmill thing as well.. and I too almost left, but I decided to stay and learn from reading the deferent post, even if it ment not being a poster, but then I decided that I was not going to let people that dont know me and I dont know them get in the way my learning about my new baby..and when you are new and attacked like that when at that time you just didnt know any better..it is hard to feel that you are ever really going to be accetped...and that is probably why so many leave..I feel thay already have the puppy..cant we educate them WITHOUT trying to punish them!!!!...Now it would be differnt if they came on here and said "Ya I bought a puppy from a puppy mill and I would do it again so what"..but thats not the case with most of them....I have to quote thumper from bambi here...."if you dont have nothin nice to say, dont say nothin at all"...as soon as i read her post I thought to my self..oh boy here we go...so many people are gonna rip her to shreads...and its not nessary. | Cranky?? What's going on lately? Is the summer heat making everybody cranky? I'm seeing more harsh lectures and less friendliness than usual, and it is a shame. I guess that's why I read a lot on YT, but seldom post, afraid of being judged. I beg you all to be gentle with newcomers..... we all come here to LEARN and share the love of Yorkies! Many of you with more experience and knowledge have strong opinions, and if you can be kind, patient and supportive with those of us who are just learning, we will likely all benefit. Share some joy and compassion especially with those who have just acquired their first Yorkie. Warmest Aloha,

| I am so upset that she left because she felt unwelcomed. I know I was very gentle in telling her that she probably will not be able to find her puppies family, and I felt bad about that (her not being able to find the family). I did see some people throwing harsh words though, not necessarily at her, but about the puppymills. And when you just got your dog from a "puppymill" it can feel like the harsh remarks and responses are about YOU and your dog. If the orginal poster is still reading, please... we do not think any dog is better than any other because of papers or whatever... We all love our babies and a lot of members here do not have papers for their dogs. I think if you stay you will find that there are really nice members here--they probably just didnt want to jump in on the "ugly scene." I am a really nice person and I almost never post on these kinds of threads, so please know that you have not met everyone yet! There are very nice people here, I swear! |

I think she came here hoping we would tell her that the person who told her Nature came from a puppy mill was wrong and just being mean and rude. I'm sure she is upset to find out the truth. | |

| yes I do agree that she is most likely upset to hear that she will never find out anything about the babys family..and there is nothing anyone can really do to help her in that reguard...but I think she left because so many were sooo willing to take sides with the very rude lady at the pet store...and in my opnion she must have felt like TY was going to be full of people like that rude lady!!! and I dont know anything about the poster..but there are many people out there that cant deal with confrontation..and she might have thought she was always going to be looked down upon here...if she is still hanging around and just reading,,I hope she gets the courage to post again some day and see that we are not all that way....there are sooo many wonderfuly nice people here,,that is why I stayed...when you are dealing with a lot of people, you are always going to have those handfull that love to go on a power trip..making theirselves feel good by picking on every little mistake others make...when I first joined I thought 20% of the people on here were all my mother in law under differnt names...lol |

| rescuing For every puppy bought from a pet shop, the puppymiller breeds another one to replace it...sometimes 2 or 3 since sell so well. |

| Oh Nature! I am so sorry that you're leaving YT and I hope you reconsider. If you would like to contact me with questions off of YT, send me a message on here and we can exchange email addresses. I made a mistake and bought Gizmo from a back yard breeder which is different but almost as bad as a puppymill. I didn't realize it at the time and in fact didn't realize it until I had him for several months. Several YTers informed me privately through pms because they knew or rather knew of my breeder. That's probably how this should have been handled, but we can second guess this whole situation to death. That's one of the reasons I work so hard to inform people about puppy mills now. Gizmo was not a mistake. How I got him was a mistake. We all have to live and learn. I was also feeding him crap food, not training him right, and on and on. I've learned so much from YT! Please don't leave or if you do, stay in touch. (((hugs)))

| Thats ashame another member gone. I agree one person got out of hand and it got deleted but I think that at the begining of this thread it was explained what a puppy mill was. If she wants to look up videos...etc then thats her choice. I would feel really bad if I just found out my new puppy came from a mill and then having ppl post horrible links, videos...ect. I'm pretty sure my first 2 came from a mill but I was uneducated then. I came on YT and started to research and then knew what a mill was but to tell yall the truth I too would have been really upset if ppl were posting videos, links of puppy mills, etc....especially after finding out my baby was a mill dog I agree that we need to educate but from her first post I could tell she seemed like a sensitive person....so after her replies everyone should just have calmed down. I'm not the one to get into controversal posts but this one really upset me. We need to educate but be more gentle about it. |

Until we can educate people there will be females in cages pumping out puppies evey heat until they drop dead. Want to see your puppies mom, look at any puppy mill video. Any one of the cages with broken spirted females could qualify as the mom. Until buyers learn they are not "SAVING" a puppy but supporting the places that treat dogs like $$$$ only this will go on and on. So enjoy your puppy but PLEASE next time don't buy from a Pet shop. Stay on YT long enough and you will feel the same as the rest of us do

| I think it's important to remember that the OP asked for information about Nature's background after someone at a store told her she was from a puppy mill. "I desperately want to look into her background - not to see if she does or doesnt come from a great line of champions! I dont care! But to know what I may be dealing with HEALTH wise. This is my very first pup ever and I want to know EVERY THING about her." (OP added the emphasis, not me). I think it's inappropriate to bombard a newbie with videos and links about puppymills for no reason, but she asked for help in finding out "everything". I didn't see the post that was deleted, but all the other posts just attempted to provide her with the information she asked for IMO. |
