| Oh Judy, my heart aches for you, especially after some of the talks we have had. I could cry a bucket of tears for that poor innocent pup. |

| You're so sweet, Cindy. ![]() I just pray that everything turns out okay for that pup, his parents and all of the others in that situation. In the meantime, I am focusing on the rescue charity work I'm doing. I have some mosaic pieces to finish today so that I can get them mailed off to several rescues for their fundraisers. So, I'm turning my thoughts in a positive direction for the rest of the day.

| Sometimes doing the right thing is so much harder than it should be. Sadly, breeders will think it's ok and breed more if someone buys the puppy since they are then making money. If a bad breeder doesn't make any money, they'll stop. Keep that in mind. I've had to make a horrible decision once but if you let someone get away with a crime, what's to stop them from doing it again? You actually save someone else and future litters from heartbreak by making the choice not to purchase from a bad breeder.

| Judy, I'm so sorry you have to go through this emotional turmoil. You did the right thing but I understand how hard it was for you. I know that little face is going to haunt you but hopefully your bravery will at least slow the breeder down. My gosh the surrounding area in the pictures is a disaster. Poor little puppy. |

| That is so sad. He's such a little cutie, too. That would be a hard decision. I had to make a decision like that the beginning of last week. It's so hard to just not bring them all home and love them. |

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That is so sad. Yes it is very hard. One time at a pet store (abput a year ago) there was a puppy...that I fell in love with. I named him Sebastian and I would have taken him home on the spot. I was so depressed until I got home and read myself up some more on puppy mills to remind myself why I just couldn't buy him.

| Judy, you did the right thing but I know it must have been very difficult to walk away from that sweet face. These pet stores and puppy mills will go on forever if we don't get the word out to people BEFORE they buy. Hope the pain from your ankle is letting up a litte.

| Thank you. My ankle is doing much better! I've officially graduated from the big boot brace to a little mini support brace. ![]() The doctor is happy that I've been able to cut way back on the pain meds too.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | I agree, to an extent. I may be "putting my foot in it" but... I totally agree that no one should but from pet stores or back yard breeders. That being said, it is quite difficult to adopt from most resuce organizations these days. I understand that there is the high cost of vet care involved but I can't help nut wonder if some of the rescues aren't making money somewhere. I have seen rescued Yorkies being "adopted" (aka sold) for thousands of dollars over the net. There are also the adoption criteria to be met. Most are entirely acceptable, I would hope that we would all care that Yorkies are always safe, protected, well cared for and loved. That being said, I have been turned down by a couple of rescues because a) I have 2 other dogs ( a Pom and a Lab who are very well behaved and always monitored when a new animal is in the vicinity), b) because I have a 9 yo daughter (my Misty Blue grew up with my other 3 daughters and all were loved and safe) who loves and knows how to handle small and large animals. c) I rent and do not have a fenced yard. I have my landlord's permission ( I would not consier it otherwise) and I do not turn my dogs out to run, They are always on leash when outdoors as too many things could happen. Sorry, this is so long. I truly do beleive in resuing our beautiful Yorkies, both young and old alike. I just have to wonder sometimes. Your thoughts?

![]() Poor little baby. I hate that people can be so cruel to keep them in these conditions just for a profit. ![]() It is so hard to leave them but you know you are doing the right thing because if you were to get him, they cycle would just keep continuing. It just breaks my heart.

Unfortunately legitimate rescues do have very strict rules on placing dogs. They have to go "overboard" in checking out a family because they know how hard it is to rehome a dog, only to find that family won't or can't manage either. The average price of a rescue should be around $300.00 and the dog will have been neutered or spayed. The United Yorkie Rescue is legitimate and Yorkietalk is now selling raffle tickets to support their efforts. Here is their link: United Yorkie Rescue
