Can i watch my groomer ?

The worst grooming stories come from those that have just dropped of a pup with a new groomer and return to a dog with a messed up cut. Its a little unfair to expect someone to put all their trust in a groomer they dont even know Not to mention, some dogs act that much better with the owner there.... But, I do understand every case is different

i think the reason she charged double was because it took 2 hours with owner in the room and only one hour when the owner wasnt visible.. that makes sense.. i just want to watch.. covertly..

Possibly when you are selecting a groomer, ask to watch her groom a similar dog that is not yours. My groomer let me watch her groom a shihtzu. This way, you can see her style and the dog isn't wanting to get up and come to you.

The dog trainer that my puppy will be going to helped me find a good groomer. She said "The first time at a groomers, the owner should stay to watch."

Yes, I can understand that (for regular customers) However, I still dont agree when it comes to a new customer. The first impression is very important...and if Im a new client who wants to ensure my dog is being handled and cut to my liking... I feel that a good groomer should be more than willing to accomodate me... Regardless if it might take them a little longer than normal... they'll be gaining a good relationship w/ a new client, which is important

Never, never had a problem with the owner watching, but it was from an area where the dog could not see the owner. Some Yorkies will not stand on the table if they can see their mom or dad...
At Petsmarts type grooming places, you can watch from the window, but I never see the owner standing by the table...and I do not believe you are allowed in the back during the bath..

I liked a detailed list and pictures of what the client wants..if I made a mistake..the grooming was free.

I haven't used our groomer in ages...but she always welcomes us to stay (she likes to chat)...and we have never had a problem w/ Mojo not doing good for her while we were there. I think it just depends on your groomer....AND how comfortable the dog feels w/ that groomer (how they will act when you are there).
