| Our love of Yorkies is more because of their sparkling personalities, the fact that they don't shed and are low on the allergy factor, size coming in last. We were used to hearty, large outside only type dogs and while we loved them to pieces, we never got as close a relationship as we do with our yorkie, Lambeau and grand-dog, Baxter. Both yorkies are in the 7 - 9lb range and while they maybe 'teapots', they are absolutely the perfect size for our hearts!! |

| I quit worrying about the teacup stuff a long time. Mine are 6plus and 5 plus. I would rather they be larger than smaller. I did not want a 2 or 3 pound yorkie. My daughter has a 70 pound GSP. He is always around. We love that big one too. |

| Jackson is a healthy 17lbs! I love his frame & figure! I got him from a BYB though in the city. But he's been the best dog I could imagine.

| As much as you would love for your yorkie to stay small, having a bigger dog let's you not worry so much about Carter injuring himself jumping off something and perhaps break a leg. As the posters before me here, and being a mom of 2 children, it is almost impossible to gauge what our babies will finally weigh when full grown. Haha. I was told my Bailey would be 5.bs, which I was wanting as I have probs with my muscles and figured that picking him up would be best with a lower weight. He weighed 7.5lbs at last weighing, which was a month ago. As he is almost 2, I think he is full grown and won't weigh any more. The extra 2 lbs. is welcome from the point of view that I don't worry (too much) when he jumps down from the couch. I have trained him to stay on my bed until I pick him up and put him on the floor, as it is higher. |

| Yes...there are perks to having a bigger yorkie!! It may not fit in your purse, but it's probably going to be a lot sturdier than the smaller ones...and there's just more there to love!! After owning yorkies on the smaller scale(which I love too), I wouldn't mind getting a bigger yorkie at some point. |

| Today my neighbor (she has a little black dog that Charlie has met) asked me what kind of dog Charlie was. I said he was a Yorkie. She said that's what I thought, with a somewhat questionable look at the same time. I said, "He's a big Yorkie." LOL End of discussion. She smiled and started talking to him. Some are just big. My brother towers over me, my sisters, my other brothers and my mom and dad. He's just a big kid. Same for Yorkies. Some just grow bigger than what people picture Yorkies to be. But it doesn't mean anything is wrong or abnormal about them. they are just bigger. I really enjoy my 13 pounder. He's still my baby. |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I too love bigger Yorkies. I think they're super in the hunkier profile. I reckon generations ago they were probably bigger anyway. Their all beautiful, Crystal seems to have stopped growing now at 7lbs and a week over 10 months old. My step daughters 'pup' is 14 lbs at 18 months, whilst her mum is half that size . Both are wonderful and watching them play is just so funny. What mum misses out on the in the lb to weight ratio, she makes up with agility and speed. |
