As much as you would love for your yorkie to stay small, having a bigger dog let's you not worry so much about Carter injuring himself jumping off something and perhaps break a leg. As the posters before me here, and being a mom of 2 children, it is almost impossible to gauge what our babies will finally weigh when full grown. Haha. I was told my Bailey would be 5.bs, which I was wanting as I have probs with my muscles and figured that picking him up would be best with a lower weight. He weighed 7.5lbs at last weighing, which was a month ago. As he is almost 2, I think he is full grown and won't weigh any more. The extra 2 lbs. is welcome from the point of view that I don't worry (too much) when he jumps down from the couch. I have trained him to stay on my bed until I pick him up and put him on the floor, as it is higher.
