London is getting spayed tommorrow

I have to take her in at 8 am, i am sooo worried and scared. Please say a little prayer for her, she will need it. I wish i didn't have to do this, i feel so guilty but i know it's for the best. Poor baby has no idea what's going to happen tommorrow

Thank you so much!!! You don't know how crazy i am going. She is also having baby teeth removed that never fell out, which is more than 2 and her dewclaws removed.

Awww Sarah, I know exactly how you feel sweetie Even though a spay is such a simple and common thing, you CAN'T help but to be afraid because it is YOUR baby that is going through it And I thought exactly the same way as you, I said, "Poor little Tatum has no idea what is going to happen to her tomorrow" a DOZEN TIMES in my head It is very, very scary but I am sure that everything with London will be just fine I tell you I still remember Tatum's spay like it was yesterday and even though I was TERRIFIED for her, it seems like I dropped her off and the next thing I knew the vet was calling me to tell me that the surgery was over and that she was already awake and was doing fine

I will be saying lots of little prayers for sweet London and please keep us updated on how she does tomorrow girl

Aww, the poor thing!!! It's going to be a rough couple of days for her Will you be able to take her home after they finish doing everything or does she have to stay overnight? I think I remember you saying that the vet said that you could take her home right away ...

Thank you Brooke, you always know how to make someone feel better. I'm so glad everything went so smoothly for Tatum, i know she is a tiny too so im glad to hear that. I'm just so scared cause i know how sensitive London is. She likes being held and has a fit if she's not, she likes cozy spots, stuff like that, that i know at the vets it is not, it's all metal and uncomfortable looking for them lol I'm going to pack a toy with her and a blanket. I need to go buy onesies now as i dont have any, just a really tiny one that was from baby born, the doll. That's the only thing that will fit her. Thank you for the prayers girl

Yes i can pick her up the same day which im so happy about. They have overnight stays but noone there to watch them which doesnt make sense to me so i am going to pick her up and keep an eye on her if anything. I still dont know what is normal behavior for a spay so prob. every little thing will freak me out. They also said she can't eat after 8 pm today

That's great that you'll be able to have her home afterwards! Yeah, I remember you saying how there was no one there to watch her ... that's so weird ... it makes me wonder if this is common practice & I will be asking my vet about this today. Hopefully if they don't have anyone to watch him at night she will let me take him home for the night. I personally think that we can watch & monitor our bbys better than anyone else can! I just don't understand why they have overnight stays, but no one is there to watch them. Could someone explain the logic here? I'm praying everything goes great for you and your little girl, I had such a hard time sleeping the night before, and I was so glad he didn't know what was happening. I love the way they look in those onesies, make sure you post a picture of her. Best of luck!

I'm glad you're able to take her home! I remember when you posted your concerns about that.

I was worried about that too, the vet told me today that I'll have to sign a release in order to take her home, basically saying they aren't liable if she has complications. Do you have to do that too?

the vets I've asked about it say it's mostly due to the owners out there that would just put the dog in the backyard after it got home or wouldn't watch it after surgery. I guess it's expensive to pay someone to stay all night with the animals so that's why most don't have someone there 24/7. And I guess they feel like no matter what kind of owners the dog has, at least it gets cage rest that night after surgery...some owners would take their dog home and watch it, but other owners would just toss the dog back out in the yard..

Of course, we all take good care of our babies and know we do, and I wouldn't want to leave one of mine overnight either if no one was there to watch and monitor them. i don't feel it is safe. I guess it is safer for the dogs that would be tossed outside that night but not for our babies that would get lots of love and care at home.

I feel for you, girl. It is coming up on Penny's time too. I'm so nervous. I am having her chipped at the same time.I will pray for London. You can also give me some tips after you've been thru it.
