Do you approve of different colored yorkies?

Now, we can add "apple head Yorkies" to our list of concerns. I was reading a site and had heard that the person said she was gonna have apple head Yorkies. Anybody want an apple-headed parti Yorkie? That is apparently just down the road in her program...
I didn't mean to hijack this thread, but this really is a new one...
Also, Dog Fancy mag (can I say their name?) has 3 addys for labs to do testing for breeds in the background of any dog we have. I am considering this...Anybody else? I notice some mention of concern about mixing breeds to get these tris that I love so much...

As with T-cups and other Yorkies deemed "rare", apple head is another ploy just to get more $$$$.

Have you forgotten that partis and Biewers both came from traditional colored yorkies? Why is it OK for Biewers to be bred and not partis? It would make no sense to try to change the biewer standard to the traditional colored since there is already a club for them. However there is no club for the partis and they are every bit as much yorkies as the biewer. And yes if someone comes up with a pink yorkie without mixing in any other breed then they should be included.

Partis are the off spring of champions.


And yes Sue did say that and that issue has aready been addressed.

So would using the claim that they came from a background of champions also be a ploy to get more money? that would probably be rare also since most yorkies on the market are not the offspring of champions.

I dont notice that champion sired dogs are any more expensive than the run of the mill Yorkies. In fact, some are even cheaper and you get better, by far, quality.

Im sorry, must have missed the "traditional colored Biewer" club. It also makes no sence to change the standard of the Yorkie either.

Then why do they make that claim when they advertise their puppies? I don't understand why parti breeders use the term rare since most people have never heard of them, they already assume that they are 'rare"

Just wanted to know, this "blue" colored hair of the Yorkie, it's a dark charcoal metallic looking hair, and so beautiful, in my opinion. Does anyone know what other breeds of dogs has this kind of hair?

Didnt they come from the mating from 3 Streamglen Yorkies? Can you show me an article where the Stramglen kennel produced any other parti colors? I am sure those 3 dogs were not the only Streamglen Yorkies to have the parti gene. Where did the chocolate gene come into play? I saw a chocolate and white Biewer from Germany at my last show. Just wondering.

I think more people are supportive of breeding Biewers because there IS a standard, there ARE breed clubs, they ARE recognized as something different. It took years and years and years of coordinated efforts to get there and I'm sure they faced the same nay-sayers and scrutiny when the Biewers were a new concept that you are experiencing now. It wasn't something that happened overnight. Once there is organized club for parties on a larger scale, maybe they'll be viewed the same. Until then, there will be opposition.

It's new, it's in demand and there are people everywhere looking to turn a quick profit. That is not something exclusive to just this breed or any variation thereof.

Yes they probably did run into the same type of opposition, and it probably did take time. and our efforts will not bef recognized overnight either. But we won't be driven off.

And I agree completely on being cautious of all of them. too many have sprung up too sudden;ly. I suspect there are a lot of "knockoffs' out there.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. The Biewers are parti colored.
