| Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!! It's a bummer that so many of our babies have this issue. I seriously DON'T know exactly where she is going to get them, but it really seems that when the BF takes her out, she comes back worse than usual. Even right now she has some in her armpits and I'm waiting for Chris to get home to take them out bc I can't stand hearing her yelp!! Right after work I am heading to Petsmart to get some spray on conditioner to try that out. It really seems like it will work like a charm, thanks for the excellent idea, HOT POD!!!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We have this problem from time to time and have found that if you use some Baby Powder on the fur it helps to loosen up the sticker burr from the coat...with having show dogs I have to be really careful not to break their coats and heard that this is the best way to get them out. You may have to use alot of Baby Powder and work it into their coat, but with some tender care, the burrs will come out!!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hehehe...I just read your reply to my blog about the sticker burs You are definitely not the only one that has to go through this! We have actually started walking the babies on the side of the street instead of on the sidewalk as when we walk them on the siewalk they always want to go over in the grass and that is when they pick up all the burs This has helped and usually now we only get 1 or 2 burs, and sometimes none at all. Thank GOD I don't have them in MY yard.... If it ever happens again where they get covered in them, I will definitely try using some spray conditioner as I do have some. I don't know why I never thought of that the last time Stupid me! Most of them I was able to get out just by losening the hairs, but a few of them were SO stuck that I had to actually cut them out with a pair of scissors Geez, I will never for get that night...it really WAS a nightmare, lol!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | My Tatum doesn't mind me getting them out either...but of course little Stedman always has to be such a big baby about everything....LOL. The little mess! Thankfully we haven't had to go through this again...they only usually pick up 1 or 2 burs now, if any at all. I can't wait until those darn things go away though, they are such a PAIN!

| Lacy and Rylie get them too...Rylie has a thick cottony coat that is like a magnet for everything. I don't think the stickers are hard to get out of their hair at all though. It just takes me a couple minutes of pulling them out or combing them out to get them. I can't imagine them actually getting matted in unless the dog was already matted or they were left there for a long while.

It may be a negative to living in the country, but the country is always so peaceful (we used to live in the country as well). By the way, that view of yours sounds fabulous!

| Maddie gets them all the time too We call them hitchhikers and I hate them!!! They are so hard to get out, even if you do it as soon as your walk is over! I'm gonna try the leave in conditioner idea!
