| ![]() We have hawks in our area as well. My neighbor has had several of his chickens killed by the hawks. Other friends have wondered what was happening to their Koi since they were disappearing. One day they watched a hawk swoop down to their pond & grab a koi and these are large koi, about 10 inches long. When I walk Daisy in our yard it is not unusual for the hawks to start circling over us. We even had one come as low as our ranch house roof and circle us. He was so low you could hear his wings flapping and see his shadow on the ground. It is just too scarey. Daisy is never allowed in the yard alone and only gets walked with someone right with her, even in our yard. Being that Daisy is smaller than the chickens, I really don't think the hawk would hesitate to take her if he had the chance. ![]()

| ![]() That is so scary. I have thought of this often. One of my customers told me that her daughter's dog was torn up pretty bad by a chicken hawk. I think the poor dog was even blinded. I would have someone fire warning shots in the air to scare the hawk away. If one should happen to hit a hawk it would be completely an accident right..

| ![]() I always wondered if it was just me or would a hawk take my Sophia or Tuffey. I never ever leave them play on the deck with out us watching them because our deck is "in the trees." We have had a hawk sit on a limb just 30' away from our door to the deck. My neighbor put up a plastic owl and we don't even get birds at our birdfeeder anymore so I took it down. They must work! This is a very frightening thing and our babies are helpless. Deb I never heard about the snake for the pool - that is great info. Be Safe! We have a wonderful Bark Park near us and that is where we take our Sophia and Tuffey to run and play. They love being with all the other dogs and Tuffey was decked out in his new Gentlemen's Club shirt and bow last weekend!!!!! He was the star of the day. HAGD Cookie ![]()

I think you may have something about the feeders. I keep a large bird feeder beside the patio because the dogs love to lay on the window seat and watch the birds. And it DOES attract a lot of those doves. Looks like the first thing I need to do is get rid of the bird feeder ![]() Quote:
