Ditto!
I lost my little Yorkie boy on Jan. 2 of this year. The same thing happened to him. He bolted and was hit by a car. It was horrible.
That very day, my husband said, "I'll get you another dog honey" I was offended, but he was only trying to help. He loved Peanut too.
Anyway, just a few days later, my Dad called and said he wanted to get me another Yorkie, but to give me time, he found a breeder who's puppies wouldn't be born until later that month and couldn't come home until Spring.
I couldn't help but be excited about a puppy and it really did help me. I still think about Peanut all the time. I cried the first day we brought Abby home, because I felt like I was betraying Peanut. It was silly. Abby hasn't replaced Peanut at all, I love her with all my heart though.
Just a week after we brought home Abby, someone offered to give us Daisy. Her family was divorcing. So we now have 2 yorkies.
As MyFairLacy said, everyone is different. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer than I did to get another Yorkie to love.
