| our babies I just want to say. I have 2-male yorkies and I love them very much. I am so afraid of something happening to them. I would love to brag I have seen some car stickers that say "Yorkies". I'm afraid someone would follow me home and try to get them. I have 2-crates in the back seat for them to ride in. Only when me or my husband are going somewhere. Ha, I don't anyone around them. Is that stubid or what? Love Cheryl |

| You are not being overly protective at ALL! My sister-in-law dropped our baby when he was ten weeks old. Then, my sister dropped our baby when he was 14 weeks old. He is okay, but now only hubby and I hold him. People have made comments that we are over protective, but what do they know? Yorkies and all toy breeds are especially delicate. So, if being overly protective is what we have to do to keep them safe, then so be it. People dont understand unless they have owned a toy-sized pup, especially when he or she has been dropped. And guess what.. when someone drops the dog they seem to get defensive and not apologize! So you do what you have to! |

| As probably everyone knows by now we have 2 schnauzers and Kayla is our first yorkie. That was one of the very things that my breeder told me. She even told me to hold her with both hands because they jump so fast and if they ever fall and hit their head they can have seizures or who knows what. I never let a child hold her. If they get mad, so be it. |

| I Totally Agree With You.... Harvey Gets Lots Of Attention Too, And I Have To Tell People Not To Try To Pick Him Up, In Fact He Really Doesnt Like To Be Picked Up By Anyone Other Than Me, Husband Or Daughter. He Is Quite Shy With Strangers And Hides If They Try To Hold Him......

| I think I'd have a heart attack if ANYONE came up and "scooped up" Max . At least it was someone you know, but still.....the ONLY person that Max is totally comfortable with holding him anyway besides me and my dh, is my best girlfriend; I don't know what it is, but he just adores her and acts like she's part of our little family . I mean, I love her to death too, but it's just kind of odd b/c Max loves Grammy and Grampy too, but not the way he loves my friend...I'm happy about that but a little mystified by it. Regardless, I don't think you're being bitchy at all, but I know exactly how you feel; I used to have to do that with my bird (not that people would try to take him anywhere, but they'd come right up and try to pet him, which was always dicey, LOL)...makes you feel like you're being mean, but in the end, your responsibility is to your dog; not to make sure that everyone else is happy with your dog. On the other hand, I guess if you take her to work, you have to be at least diplomatic about it. I think just kind of explaining the whole thing to your boss so she understands that you're not being a psycho, but that it only takes ONE little second that someone might drop her and it could honestly severely injure or even kill her. In all honesty, when it comes to my pets, I don't care if someone else's feelings are hurt b/c I won't let them handle my pet; I am my pet's guardian and I take that responsibility seriously. If it causes some hurt feelings, I'm sorry about that, but anyone with a shred of sense would understand. I just think there's a lot of people out there who just don't realize how fragile these guys are even though they seem like regular dogs only smaller.

| I was just at the vet today, he was holding Bella, he then handed her over to the vet tech (was teaching me to give her a shot) and I just felt uncomfortable. Right at that moment, Bella shot out of the girls arms, thank God the girl was fast and able to grab her back before she hit the floor. My heart just sank. I was then sweating and shaking and having to give my first shot. Ugghh. Moral is, I dont trust other people to hold my dogs, they just dont realize these little dogs will fly out of their hands.
