| Things are very different here in South Florida...dogs seem to be everywhere. I was surprised to see so many pets at the dog show, most do not allow it. Nobody pays any attention to signs here.. We went to a street art festival a few months ago in Del Ray..in the paper it said, no dogs..so I didn't bring any..I was just about the only person without a stroller or dog on a lead. I went to the paint store this past week and the owner has a Golden Lab..he greeted everyone at the door. |

| I didnt know some cities could be like this! I live in Danville Ca. and I take him everywhere except eating areas unless they have an outdoors area which then I bring CHico. I normally put him in my purse carrier but you can see him peeping through! We have a few dog parks too where Chico can run and play. I shop sometimes with him at Target or Ross or even Home Depot and they say nothing, I even brought him into an Old Navy store but he is always in my bag. Some older people put there dogs into the shopping cart like a child and are not told anything! Is it the area I'm in or what? I always thought it was ok as long as you have a handle on your dog and it's a small dog. Maybe thats why my cousin commented when first visiting my area how shocked she was to see soo many people out walking there dogs! She said it was dog country! I didn't really notice maybe because I'm a dog lover and it seems normal!

| I think part of it is the area that you live in and also the general attitude of the community. Asheville is VERY laid back and friendly (people don't even use their car horns here!), so people here are just generally accepting. When I took Tino to Home Dept one day, these big burly guys were all coming up to us and played with him! They just melted! It was so cute!

| The seattle area is very dog friendly, so I usually don't have a problem. I always bring them in a bag. The only place I have never gone with them is Starbucks because I have heard about so many people being kicked out. It's a shame too because there is one on every corner We've been to Home Depot, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Drug Stores, Some grocery stores (although I usually don't do that), the mall. I've never been kicked out. We also have a lot of restaurants with patio seating that will allow dogs on the patio. We just bought a little rug and will give that a try next time. Oh - and we are celebrating our one year anniversary next month and are going to Cannon Beach, Oregon. Most of the hotels there are dog friendly so the boys are going with us. It will be so much fun to play on the beach. It will cut down on the lovin with them there, but I don't mind! Last edited by Bentley'sMom; 07-17-2005 at 10:39 AM. |

| We take Matise everywhere . We hide him if we think there might be a problem. It is a lot easier to take him then leave him and upset him. We live in Miami. We always go to South Beach and Lincoln Road, we never use a carrier there, we go to the restaurants for dinner and brunch on sundays and shopping and no one ever says a thing to us, usually they are making such a huge fuss over Matise we can't walk more than a couple of feet at a time. We also take him to Bal Harbour mall, Aventura Mall (no carrier) they love him at Bloomie's and everyone loves him at all the stores we go to . The pembroke lakes mall is unfriendly and the security there are RUDE , I mean I was there to shop but obviously it is more important for them to allow the large groups of gang bangers to walk around and run around and be loud and rude and disruptive there but not the people who are actually there to shop. We went to Hollywood beach and the boardwalk area and the security patrols there are RUDE |

| I took Mocha to the Gap in the mall one day and I guess she got scared cause she just started barking really loudly (i was in the changing room) and the manager came in and was like whoever has that stupid dog get it out ASAP or else... I took off the clothes i was trying on, grabbed my carrier and pealed out of there and haven't been back since.. lol

| I've seen dogs in the Gap, too. That's not very smart for Gap to be selling doggy bags and clothes, but not to allow dogs in. I always assumed if the store sells dog items, then dogs are welcome. |

There was an advertizement in the paper today from Target selling dog purses! However, I know that they don't allow dogs in, because I got kicked out with Copper!
