Where do you take your Yorkies? I would love to take Copper more places with me, but after I read Stitches account of the Sporting Goods store, I was wondering where he would be welcomed. I got chased out of Target with him once. Maybe that was because there is a Petsmart next door. Maybe they were having a lot of pets come in and mess things up??? What about the strollers? Do they get accepted better with them? Would love to hear your ideas and how you take them when you go...carriers, strollers, purses??? |
Well Ann, I'm still looking for places to take Maggie. Her stroller is great. It's totally enclosed. I also purchased a purse type carrier. The only place I have taken her is to an antique auction, and to Petsmart. I called the auction site, and they said it would be fine. She was the hit of the auction. Waiting for the weather to cool, and will take her to outdoor festivals, trade days, etc. Hopefully, I won't get kicked out of OPEN AIR. |
Shopping with Yorkies I have taken my yorkies to many places. I took both Mandy and Jack to Target in my purse and they got bored after awhile so i went and got a shopping cart and set my purse in it and had my hand on them to make sure they didn't fall out. I was standing in the main aisle talking with someone and no one said a word. Before i got Mandy I used to take Jack everywhere for the first 2 weeks I had him. I shopped in the mall for three hours and he slept in my purse and people asked me if he was a stuffed animal. He was only 8 weeks then though. I have taken him to Marshalls a clothing store. Target and Walmart. Haven't tried a food place though. It was great. :animal-sm. I think that was part of my reasoning to get Mandy 2 weeks after I got Jack. It was such a joy having him around that I wanted more !!!!!!! :) :aimeeyork Jack and Mandy's Mom |

Brenda, I asked you on another thread, but I'll ask again....do you like the carrier you got from PetEdge? |
dog show I went to the dog show in West Palm Beach today...I could not believe all the pet owners there with their dogs in strollers. I think I will take my girls tomorrow in their stroller. |
I don't take charlie anywhere because he hates riding in the car and there isn't anyplace in town that allows pets. The first day i got charlie i had to run in to walmart had him he was wrapped in a blanket(you could barely see him and they yelled at me and said they couldn\'t have any animals in there except for service dogs. But i was in there like two weeks before and some guy had a HUGE yellow lab in his cart and nobody said anything to him and they yelled at me for my little 1lb puppy. How is that fair. And he wasn\'t a service dog and the guy wasn\'t impaired in anyway. |
WOW, that would be fun. The dog show in Houston is next weekend, but they don\'t allow dogs that aren\'t being shown :( . |
In my area, there is almost no places that allow dogs..I almost was kicked out of a fabric store. My little Cruiser was maybe a pound and a half and we had been to the vet. I stopped in to buy fabric for dogs beds and while I was waiting to have the fabric cut, the woman told me next time to not bring my dog in. I told her "Don\'t worry! I won\'t be in either!" I bought tons of fabric from them. And, Cruiser was wrapped in a blanket and sound asleep. |
Our city is not dog friendly either. You can take them to petco or petsmart and we have a dog bakery. Thats about it. I have seen people with their little dogs at home depot so I quess we could at places like that. |
We are able to take our girls lots of places, except Target and Walmart and other places that contain food items....otherwise we carry them with us, usually not even in a carrier...they get so much attention that it makes it hard to shop sometimes but we love showing them off!!!! Yesterday we took them to Home Depot, Linens N Things, and Petsmart of course....they love to go, go, go!!! |
I take mine with me everywhere except for grocery stores and restaurants unless they have an outside patio. The places here that have it posted that dogs are not allowed are Sbux, Barnes & Noble and WalMart. I am anti-WalMart so thats not a big deal, Barnes and Noble, didnt say anything when I took Tino in with me one day to grab a gift and Sbux was totally rude so now I have decided to boycott them! I don\'t have a problem with them not allowing dogs as long as it is either posted or if they are polite. |
IVE TAKEN MY BABY EVERY WHERE :D LIKE PETSMART. DOGGY PARK, AND I TOOK HER TO TARGET AND THEY KICKED ME OUT I WAS SO MAD.I HAD HER IN A DOGGY PURSE AND THEY TOLD ME TO LEAVE  |
my local mall allows pets in bags. to bad rex is so heavy, it get annoyin to hold him around so much. |
You\'ll have to visit Lincoln Road, South Beach, Florida. Everyone takes their dogs with them and they are allowed to eat at the resturants where they have outside setting. You see dogs every where under tables and these are all upscale stores & resturants...wish more places were like that. |
we have a dog friendly mall that has alot of upscale stores. its so nice they have water for the dogs outside and grates along the outside the perimeter so the dogs can pee and poop. they also have a really nice dog boutique. a week ago we got kicked out of costco :( |
