| Though I completely love my Yorkies, I would love to have a Biewer. They are absolutely stunning.

| I'm with you Mickie, I'd take a free one in a heartbeat but if I'm shelling out my own money I'd rather have a standard color. |

| on the MARS Website it also says that the test is not designed for purebred dogs. So if the Biewers are in fact purebred yorkies (as their history says they are) then the MARS test would not be accurate anyway since it isn't for purebred dogs.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | So if a purebreed yorkie is tested and comes out purebreed yorkie, the Mars test is "wrong" because it was right about a purebreed and it isn't a test for purebreds. Did I get that right?? |

| I don't think an 84% accuracy rate is anything to write home about. If someone tests a yorkie and the test comes back yorkie then great, but the MARS company actually says that this test is not designed to test purebred dogs. Plus, with an 84% accuracy rate, how can you really trust what the test results are? I guess they *might* be correct but from some of the results I've seen, I'd almost guess the test is even less accurate than that 84%

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | well I think they are working on making it 100% accurate....the more dogs that get tested the more the database grows, the more the genetists (sp?) will learn about the genes and alleles the more predictions they will be able to make. 84% is better than 50-50. Progress moves in baby steps... but the thread is which would you prefer....and my answer is still: biewers. |
