Which one do you prefer??? A Standard Yorkie or Beiwer (sp?) Dont get me wrong, I think Beiwers are beautiful but I prefer the standard Yorkie........To me the beiwer looks too much like a maltese:confused: ................I was just wondering what everyone thought. Is the Beiwer a Yorkie or a mix? I need to read more about the breed........I was just thinking about the overall look:rolleyes: If someone gave me a bewier(which I know will never happen) I would take it in a heart beat:D :D |
Although I think that Biewers are beautiful, I still prefer the look of the traditional Yorkie, too. Did you know that Biewers are a separate breed from Germany? I have learned so much here on YT! |

I didn't know that they are a separate breed.......because I haven't read too much about them, I do however think that they look different in a lot of ways. I think they look more like maltese:confused: |
I think they are both beautiful:) kinda parcial to yorkies though;) |
i love them both:) everytime i see a biewer on yt i fall in love with then more |
I agree...although I think the Biewers are beautiful and would take one in a heartbeat, to me.....they are not a yorkie...I like the standard look. |
Well, I have 2 yorkies and 1 biewer, and I had a biewer I sold and that's when I got my 2nd yorkie. The one I sold was beautiful, but, she was 5 1/2 mos. and I could never get her to use the pee pad(all my others are trained to the pad), so, sold her to a wonderful lady..My little guy (biewer) is grat, has a wonderful personality, and yes, he does look a lot like a maltese, and his ears aren't up, but, I could never made a decision of the two if I had to pick..I love them both, and one day, i want to add another biewer to the family, just not right now, maybe when the prices come down.. |
Well since they are separate breeds, you could be asking do you want a poodle or a great dane??? |

I thought (and this is even owning one), that a biewer was conceived by 2 yorkies(pie bald gene), which in all acutality, would make them the same dog, just different colors..? |
I like them both, If I were able to add another pup to my family it would be an IBC registered Biewer. I don't think you can really compare the 2 when their coloring is so totally different. I was actually going to get a Biewer when I got my last pup but ended up with a chocolate colored yorkie. I'm not going to breed or show my dogs so I just get them cause they are darn cute |
I Love Love them both!! They are both the most gorgeous breeds of dogs in the world ... IMO |

Biewers started with 2 Yorkies, so whether you agree or disagree about them being a separate breed, they will have similarities. "Mr Biewer" decided he liked the look and started breeding for it. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/biewer.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biewer Still not accepted by the AKC as a separate breed but you can do a search on here and read lots of posts about them. |
There appears to be a genetic difference--but I will have to see where I read that--genetic Test site for identifying dogs for shelters, maybe. And while the tale is 2 pie-bald yorkies, it should be able to be recreated today--with the 4 white legs, tail, chest, chin all being white and 2-3 colors in the face--and can be reproduced from a pair of yorkies with the gene... |
