| OMG that is awful. There is no way all those dogs are being taken care of. And the prices are crazy! I have never heard of a Applehead Chihuaha either. Are the authorities investigating her?

And I would sure like the brokers here importing these poor waifs and selling them here in my area to be investigated. Unfortunately, the legality of this is rather cloudy but it certainly shows buyer beware and don't support this type of operation. If you read all the claims on the websites involved in these dog selling businesses, people may think they are getting somethign 'special' in these Brazilian Yorkies and are paying big prices for claims that are not quite up to par to the breed standard of the Yorkie and are getting pups raised with a lot of dogs.

| That's just plain appauling. Some people just have no feelings for what they do with animals.

| A lot of people use the terms "applehead" and "deerhead" to describe what a chihuahua looks like. The correct look for a chihuahua is the applehead look. All chihuahuas SHOULD have an apple-like dome shape to their head with a short little snout

| That's so horrible. There's no way that many dogs could be cared for. Some people are disgusting. |

| Just found this thread, interesting. I had seen this breeder advertise also. Says she sells to high end people out west, in Canada that is. Sells yorkies with no papers what so ever. says the people that purchase a puppy from her do not care about papers, just want a perfectly healthy yorkie This is pretty disgusting and would make it harder for a good breeder in brazil to sell their baby's. As like any place, they all have the really bad, but there is also the good breeders at the same time. Knowing who is who is always a good idea when looking for a yorkie I guess. Thanks for sharing this with us all. ![]() pooh's mum |

| I missed the start of this earlier thread -- but I have been hearing about how beautiful "brazilian yorkies" are and have actually started to contact some breeders in Brazil -- who is this puppy mill breeder so that I don't deal with her? I saw an ad on Kijiji in Vancouver about Brazilian yorkies -- it was West Coast Yorkies - and West Coast Yorkies told me that these brazilian yorkies look very different (shorter legs and bodies, thicker hair, resemble little bear cubs). Anyways I was stunned when they tried to sell me a little male for $3800 -- and told me that they recently sold a Brazilian yorkie to someone in the US for $10,000. |

| I have a brazillian yorkie...and yes there coats are much different...I would say they are more fluffier but they are by no means smaller or better. I sent them a message and I am curious to read there reply. I simply told them that since they claim to be reputable breeders they shouldnt advertise tcup yorkie b/c there is no such thing and that a reputable breeder would never do that just to make more money. People like this digust me....UUGGHHH when will puppy mills stop....

| I have 2 brazillian yorkies and yes they are very different. They are very short legged, very dark and beautiful thick coats with very short snouts. I love my 2 guys. I also have 1 cute girl from Canada whom I love dearly as well but I do get alot more people asking me where I got my brazillians.....very different looking. When looking for my brazillians I was in contact with westcoast. They actually charge 2800.00-5500.00 now. I was not impressed with them and ended up finding a good reputable breeder! | Considering the largest puppy mill found so far had 400 dogs in Kennewick Washington ~ I find it almost imaginable that anyone could have 5200 dogs without having anyone complain, see, hear anything. If Westcoast Yorkies was a shady operation why would they be posting there name all over the place advertising? Come on. |

BTW, someone reputable does not post their name and ads all over the place, neither do they sell for someone else nor do they deal in all sorts of breeds. They don't import to resell either and sell for way high out of the ball park prices, JMHO.
