| I havent heard of Yorkies breeders breeding with Silkies. What would be the point in that? That would only create bigger yorkie mixes. And if Yorkie breeders wanted to pass them off as purebred Yorkies, wouldnt the size and terrierishness defeat that purpose? If I remember correctly, the Silkie Terrier was created by crossing Yorkies with the Austrailian Terrier. That eventually created the breed called the Silkie Terrier. this was done over many years and many generations of diligent record keeping before becoming an AKC recognized breed. |

| I guess I dont hang around with the unethical breeders that do this. I also didnt know that they could get bigger$$$$ for bigger yorkies. If they show the pups parents, cant the buyers tell they the pups are going to be big? But then John Q public most of the time doesnt do much research when deciding to get a Yorkie. They just want instant gratification. The I want it now crowd. |
