Unfortuantely they have done that, and there is a difference(not so much in the way they look as pups, but as they get older) in the silkies and yorkies..Now, by doing this, they pass them off as yorkies, when they're not purebred, and make the bigger bucks for them..if you check the prices of silkies, they're a lot less..
