| ![]() Kai uses little puppy diapers from Petsmart when he is out and running all around. they really help. He doesn't try to take them off but after he goes in them he wants to let you know to change him so he will come and lick your feet. We are trying to watch him so that when we see him start to smell we take his diaper off and put him outside.. if all else founds. use a diaper! Hope we help.

| ![]() My yorkie Rickles is now 7 - I got him 4 years ago and I was his 6th owner and I can't understand why because he is wonderful. He came with a lot of issues and one is that puppy pads scare him to death. I use an old throw rug I can wash. He does pretty well but still has accidents. I have now gotten a new yorkie puppy and I can't use puppy pads for him because Rickles seems terrified. What I wanted to say though is that Rickles loves to get his feet wet. He loves to walk in the rain so we get our rain gear on and head out but he will walk through every puddle he can find. He is just like a little kid about it. |

| ![]() Our 5 month old will not bark or make a sound when she needs to go out. She will only pace in circles, all the while trying to make eye contact. And she only does it when I'm around and not when anyone else is in the room. I think she knows that she can get by with making messes with anyone else but me. ![]() |

| ![]() That's my Gleason, he is 3 1/2 months old and I have not yet made it clear enough to him but I know the key is patience. I can't train him to outside because Rickles goes nuts if I try and go out with Gleason and not take him and he takes off running if he is off the leash so I am trying to train Gleason to the same rug I use for Rickles. Wish me luck! |

| ![]() This is the only breed that I've seen that will spend 20 minutes outside sniffing and sniffing, in places where they have peed and pooped before, then walk three steps inside, look straight at you, and pee. |

| ![]() You are so right. My 7 year old yorkie Rickles still doesn't understand that he can poop outside. I take him for a long walk every morning before work and the minute we get back home he runs to his rug and poops. I can count on one hand how many times he has pooped outside. That is just amazing to me. |

| ![]() hi: what is a belly band? How does it work? Do they wear it like a diaper? I have more than 3 yorkies and it is hard to know who did what. I have the kiddie doors when I leave and they stay in the kitchen but they will pee anyway. Would it be because it is several of them? My mom is at home all day and they go outside but sometimes they go wherever... Mine are seven and five. |

| ![]() My 2.12 lb. Yorkie (1 yr. old) rarely has an accident. He is very self assured and was raised in the breeder's house with about 25 other Yorkies. The other 20 came in at night I guess. My 5.2 lb. Yorkie (1 yr. old) will have an accident on the patio sometimes and she does know better. She was kennel raised and rarely petted. She is my lover girl. She would rather be in my lap than anywhere else. I spent a lot of time with them the first 5 months I had them and I know that's impossible for those of you who work. I always wanted one but waited till I was retired because I just knew I would hate having to deal with accidents after working all day. My hat is off to you all that do faithfully clean up after these little rascals! |

I can relate to this story; I have a male yorkie but he is 4-mts and he plays out-side and the minute he comes back he goes to the kitchen rug. I am home all day. So I try to keep a schedule. In the morning it has due on the grass and he goes on the porch. Sorry I'm not much help but just to let you know you are not the only one. Cheryl ![]() | |

| ![]() When Bella was younger she was crated if we were out of the house. When we were home she would always potty in the formal living room. Yorkies dont like to potty in their living space. So, I made the area she had access to smaller. I kept all the doors shut to the bedrooms and bought a gate to keep her out of the formal living room. As soon as she was out of the crate she was outside. I would tell her "go potty"..she knew this was not play time. When she went potty i would give her a little treat. I never brought her in or gave her a treat until I got 2 pees and a poop!! I also praised her "good potty girl". She would stay outside all day for this praise. My family would start to play with her as soon as they took her out and she got distracted. So i had to retrain THEM! She quickly learned "go potty". About 10 months old she would use the doggie door to go out when she wanted. No she is 100% potty trained. good luck with your furbaby! ![]() |

| ![]() Hey guys. I can definitely feel your pain. I have two yorkies. My one is 100% potty trained. He will even go outside in stormy weather, and has been like that since the age of about 3months. He is a year old now. My little girl is another story. She is about 7 months old and no matter what I try, she always messes in the house. I don't know what to do anymore!!! We keep all the doors to the bedrooms ect closed so they only have access to the tiled floors, but it's still a huge problem. I'm really desperate for advice. My house is starting to smell no matter how many times I clean and disinfect. Is there something I can wash my floors with to deter her from doing her business in the house or anything else I can try that might work. It's at the point where it's not even a pleasure to come home from work or leave the bedroom in the mornings. PS - she wasn't treated very well before we got her (got her when she was 4 months) so she is scared of people aswell which makes it even more difficult. Please... any advice would be great. |

QUOTE] When Bella was a puppy I used White vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle to cut the smell. Just spot check and make sure it is safe on your floor. I would pick up the soiled area and then spray the mixture and blot up. Worked ok for me and Bella would not go near that area again. |
