| I just know Co Co will get it and do great...sounds like you're determined to win this one...she just needs some guidance...and consistency...persistence...and a whole lot of love!!! Be brave, you can do this, it's not impossible...with plan in hand and the proper set up...it will work, don't give up...that's the easy way out, and she'll never understand if you do...we'll continue to be here for encouragement!!!

| Just do it...every day, and she'll get it. Have you had her checked to make sure she doesn't have a bladder infection? I really have absolutely no experience with pen and peepad training. But I know there are a whole lot of people here that do...So is she to have 2 separate places to pee, I mean where is she to go when you are home with her and she's out of the pen...or is there a way for her to get in when she has to go? Hope the masking tape works, I would think that would be one more thing for her to chew at...Anyway, good luck again...Oh I was going to ask, how many hours was she alone when she peed the river yesterday, you really can't expect her to hold it too long, she has to have some place to relieve herself. Let us know how it goes, with the pen.

| Patience Have patience and be consistent. Sometime sit seems like they will never get it and then suddenly the do. When you are home she still needs to have access to the pen so that she can get to her pee pad otherwise she will definitely pee on the floor unless you take her out on a regular basis. Your little one needs more exercise as she is cooped up all day. Mine is home alone for 9 hours as well and when I get home it is all about her. We go for a short walk to pee and poo and then we hop in the car and go to the ballfield down the street and I put her on a long leed (really long) as I cannot run and she runs like the wind and socializes with all the kids in the park. She absolutely loves it. We spend about 30 mins there and then come home and she has her supper and takes a little nap to recharge. After I do my chores and eat supper we go back to the ballfield for another 20 minutes. After that she is tuckered and ready for snuggle time on the couch. Usually at 8:00 she will stand up on the ottoman and look at me and that is my cue to put her to bed. She sleeps in my room in a crib next to my bed. I know it sounds foolish but she has her own space to sleep and I don't worry about rolling over her at night. We both love it. Try getting a plastic boot tray and taping the pee pad to that, it might help. I have to tell you that when Bella does use the papers on her boot tray she shreds them after use. As far as I am concerned that is the lesser of two evils. She can shred as long as she doesn't pee on the floor. Hope things get better with the training. Jay

| Boy I would think it would be hard to train her to use pads during the day, then outside at other times, doesn't that confuse them? I was always under the impression that they need one place and one place only to go potty. For me that one place is OUTSIDE, no peepads to worry about. I do work 8 hour days...and my husband 9 hours, but we both come home for lunch, so he's only alone for 4 or 5 hours at a time...and he holds it every day, has never peed in the house. Some nights he goes 8 hours without having to go out to potty until morning. You just have to find the system and routine that will work with your schedule and stick to it. Would laying a tarp down help, they're waterproof. I bought one to put down on the living room floor when we first got Winston, just in case he had an accident...never needed it. He got all A+'s in Potty Training 101. He was a wiz at wizzing from his first day on. So I know it can be done the problem is your gone too many hours for her to hold it, so she has to learn to potty in a tray or pad or something.Keep up the good work, and love her bunches when she does it right!!!

| the wiz dog tray works pretty well, i have one, but it is really large. and my dog was prone to peeing on the edge of it instead of the middle. |

| She pooped in the middle of the night? Gee, Winston poops a lot, but never at night...1st thing in the morning, noon hour and after supper, like clockwork!!! Maybe she needs a schedule, write it down for her so she can read it...LOL!!! No really...I would say put down another pad, and as she doesn't use certain areas over a period of time, remove them, one by one...til she has only one to potty on. Keep up the good work...do it for CoCo...

| She eating my siberian husky food... Thank You LulU I will try that!!! I hope it works with her. Here is another issue with her.... She likes to go into my siberian husky bowl and sneak one of his food (they are bigger than her food) and run to her crate and eat it. I think its kinda funny the way she does it..I have even lifted his plate off the floor but she gets on her back legs and reaches in. My siberian Husky doesn't get mad at her or even growls he just looks at her. But she shows more interest in his food than in her own. I keep her food always handy for her but I guess she thinks she is a big dog too and deserves a big dog food..LOL.... |
