| 5:45am - outside 6am - feed them 7am - outside and then leave for work (dogs in crate) 11am - outside during my lunch break 11:30am - back in crate go back to work 3:30pm - come home, dogs outside 5pm - dinner and go outside then every hour/hour and a half take them outside till 10pm (bed) This is a great schedule. I used one almost like it on Buddy and he was completely trained by 5months. The only difference I can see is try giving a reward when you take them out to potty. I would use liverwurst. Never give this to them inside only outside when they potty only. Just a very tiny piece is needed. See if they catch on that they get a special treat when the go potty outside. I can't understand why they are not catching on at this point. I think your doing a great job however I would also limit their area to the kitchen even when your home until they get the idea. Reward comes with potty outside and that also mean freedom inside. These little ones are super smart. I believe persistance is key. I would never stand for a dog of any breed going potty indoors at this age. Good luck. |

| Buddy is 7 months old and is completely house trained. No accidents in 6 to 8 weeks. I worked very hard to get him to this point. He is crated at night and never has accidents. BUT in the beginning he would pee and poop in his crate EVERY night!!! Also in the beginning he would have accidents all over the house. Trust me, getting him house trained was not easy!!!! I watched him very closely and I took him out very often. I would PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE when he would potty outside then we would follow up with a TREAT!!! We still use treats and he still looks forward to them. I never used the pee pads but in the beginning I did use newspaper which he caught on pretty quickly too. However, I got tired of cleaning up the messy newspaper. I noticed that if I forgot to put the paper down he would hold it. Soooo one day I just stop using the newspaper ...from that point forward he would hold it. Let me assure you that in the beginning, he had accidents all the time. As he got older and I knew he understood that pottying was suppose to be outside....I started to use a very firm deep voice when ever he would have an accident and immediately take him outside. I tried ignoring accidents but they continiued to happen but once I acknowledged accidents in a firm voice he immediately caught on. I know there is alot of YT people out there that would scold me for this but it only took a few times and he NEVER had another accident. I now can leave him home alone gated in our mudroom for 5 to 6 hours and he will hold it and he holds it all night in his crate too. Good luck!!!

| Still going. I'm not sure where to get liverwurst treats for them though. I can't believe that after about 3 months of going outside like 12 times a day, they can't even run to the door and have an accident there. |

You know I had a pair of yorkies I could not house break, and I finally took the favorite thing they liked to pee on, my bathroom throw rug, oval, small, and deep dark red, I started to train them to go on that rug, and that is the rug they would go on for the rest of their lives, I took that rug everywhere, to my moms, when driving in the car, I could put it in the middle of a big parking lot, and they would run for that rug to pee on. It also worked out well as i took it to work, as they went to work with me for 15 1/2 years, I washed it about once a week, and the rug lived as long as they did, 15 1/2 years! They are sooooooo tough to house break completely, just keep doing what will work for you, and they will catch on eventually. | |
