| Circle Game= Irritation Bella has a new game...and it is VERY irritating!! When you are trying to get her to come to you she runs away. She doesn't understand the command come anyway. So if anyone knows how to teach that...that would be my first step. But this is the problem. She goes outside on the porch and usually doesn't jump off; today got bold and jumped off the step. She was running through the neighbors yards; when you got close enough to her and bent down she circled around you and ran away FAST. She does it inside too; if I am trying to get her in the crate to leave the house she runs around the house and around me in circles so I can't pick her up. Any suggestions?

| Have you taken Bella to obedience classes? If not, you might want to consider it. I took my lab when she was a pup and it worked wonders. My Bella's starting them Monday night and I've already begun teaching her sit, down and come myself. Practice inside or with her on a leash, tell her to come, use her name too. And sound excited! When she complies, give her a treat and tell her what a good girl she is. Eventually she'll get the hang of it.

| You have to use treats to teach her to come. Hold a treat and say, "come" and she'll come because she wants the treat. Praise her. If you keep doing this, she'll learn the come command and she SHOULD come whenever you call her. Or you can just teach her her name, and have her come when you call her name. Everytime she looks over and comes when you say the name, she gets praise/treat. Then put in an environment with a LOT of distractions. Teach her that she has to respond and come when you call the same way. Then her in an environment with another dog (that she's friendly with), and when they're playing I call her (with treats in my hand) and hopefully she responds. After awhile, she will learn thats he needs to come when I call her regardless of the situation, and regardless if there are any treats. Right now, she's either being very playful (she thinks it's a game when you chase her), or she doesn't see you as a leader, and therefore she doesn't have to obey you. Good luck! |

| Try teaching her first on a retractable lead and harness in a safe park or in your yard, that way if she decides to play her game, you won't have to chase her, or worry about her putting the two of you in danger.
