Wee Wee Pad Training Help PLEASE. Hi Guys, I have three Yorkies on the bigger side that are all potty trained to go outside to potty. I recently (two weeks ago) aquired a Morkie (Yorkie/Maltese Mix). She is eight months old and was trained to go on wee wee pads. When she first arrived she seemed pretty good but lately she's been doing it on the pad but also peeing and pooping off the pad around the house. I have never wee wee pad trained but she is very small (Only 3.4 pounds) and I thing that it would be advantageous to train her to use the wee wee pad rather than potty outside with the bigger Yorkies. I say this because the cold weather is here and I'm afraid at her small size that the cold and rain will get her sick. I have been taking her out with the other Yorkies on the nice days but they are far between. Any help on properly and successfully wee wee pad training or any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Elaine

I've had Max for 2 months and he is 7 months old and just hit 3 lbs. He was litter trained but I prefer outside. I live in Syracuse, NY the snow capital of the world! We have already have a couple of snowfalls and tons of rain. Max learned very fast that when I say "go potty", the faster he does it, the faster he comes in. He goes on command, has never been upset by the cold and the snow and I found out he is a lot sturdier than he looks. He wears a sweater on colder days. We'll still have to see what happens when we are in the middle of January!

My dog is Litter boxed/ pad trained. At first you are just going to have to take the puppy very frequently to get used to the new potty place, give a treat (small piece) and give lots of praise. My dog is 18 mo old and hardly ever has an accident, she gets up in the early morning hours (to go to the laundry room) to go potty. If your house is big, I would suggest having 2 places for pee pads and then as the puppy gets older just going to one. We have an upstairs so we have a second one in my daughter's bathroom upstairs that she uses. Are your other dogs marking in the other places where the puppy is going? That might be why he is going in a place other then the pads. Takes alot of patience and time, We take our dog with us when we go out of town and it is really nice having her ableto use the pads in our hotel room instead of trying to find a suitable place in a strange area. Good luck! Michele & Bailey
