| Potty Training Help Hi! I'm new to the group and a new yorkie owner. I've had Max now for almost 2 weeks. I've been trying to crate train him with no luck at all. I take him out every 1-2 hours, per my puppy book, but he rarely poohs/pees outside. He will do it almost immediately as soon as we get back inside. I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I'm starting to get really discouraged since we haven't made any progress at all. Any advice you all could give would be greatly appreciated. Also, since he obviously prefers doing his business inside, should I start by training him with a pee pad first? If so how should I go about it? |

| i would go with the wee wee pads sprayed with simple solutions. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...+solutions&N=2 i had the same problem with my boy. i had to take him for walks with another male dog to teach him to pee outside. now he does both. |

| Last night at puppy school, the teacher said to walk your puppy in circles when you want him to pee/poo. This is because they do a circle walk naturally before going. As he/she starts to pee/poo, say "potty". She said that by doing this you will eventually get your puppy to potty on command. I observed this when we were outside on a potty break and it really worked. The trick is that if the puppy needs to go, he or she will!
