10 week old potty training We have a wonderful 10 week old male yorkie. He is just great. Trying to potty train. Doing very well for 2 weeks in our house. We are crate training. He holds through the night very well. We take him outside first thing in the morning and he pees right way. A few minutes later he has to go number 2 but he gets a little crazy (excited) and just wants to go back in the house like he is done. He will hold it until he goes back in the house (after 15 minutes later) and as soon as I put him down to get his food he will try to go on the floor an it is back outside immediately. He fights tooth and nail to get back in the house. He will finially go outside but it is such a battle. This is the easy part in the morning. His afternoon and evening breaks are a battle also. Any suggestions. FYI, we have a fenced in area of the back yard for his potty area. We try to praise a lot. My wife gets frustrated because he will hold it outside for a very long time and she cannot sit out there that long. We watch him very closely when he gets back in but sometimes he will go on the floor. During the day he is allowed to walk the kitchen floor while we are in the kitchen. When we are not he goes in a small fenced in areas in the kitchen (4' x 4'). He very rarely will go in that area. Maybe an occasional pee. Any suggestions? Any brand of treats recommeneded for teaching sit, come and other directions. Thank you. Dennis

Ritzie Britches is 11wks old. I have been trying to train her to go on the wee wee pads in the house. So that one day she will not have to stay in her crate while I am at work, I can keep her in one room, rather than the crate. She is doing great as far as peeing as long as you keep the pad in the same place. She will run to it and go. I have one in almost every room, just in case. Now pooping is a different story, she loves to hide and refuses to go on the pad. When I see her start running around like a chicken with her head cut off, I know it is time for business and she generally runs to a different room, I always pick her up and put her on a the pad but she will only go somestimes if I can block her in where she can't get off of it, otherwise she will go just a little then run off again and hide to finish. She is a little stinker. She is learning and I know she will get the hang of it. I would rather her poop on the floor than pee. It won't soak up in the carpet like the pee will. ritzie07.jpg Completely Spoiled

chance is 6months old and without a doubt he has to poo first thing in the morning. If I take him out first thing he goes wee wee and then sometimes he is so happy to be up that he does not want to finish his business. Even though I know he has to go poop. So I say "Chance, go poo poo" and usually he will. we don't play or have fun in the morning until he has done his business. Then the toys come out. Chance still has accidents about 2-3 per week but it is because he is a puppy and gets caught up with playing and having fun.
