| Pees on puppy pads not outside My baby Rylie is 3 months old today.. well she's about 95% pee pad trained.. she still has her little mistakes tho. But now i'm trying to get her to pee outside.. i take her out for walks and she will never pee outside, she has no problem pooping anywhere whether it's outside or inside not she won't pee. I'll be out with her for a few hours and she won't pee outside she'll wait till we are home and then go on her pad. Do anyone have any suggestions on how to get her to pee outside? (she's pee on grass before maybe about 10 times but that's about it)

| romeo had the same problem. i got him in winter and wee wee pad trained him. come spring he would play outside , but not pee. i started walking him wit 2 other yorkies and he learned from them. he copied their behavior and started peeing outside. now he is great. only uses the wee wee pad when i'm out or if the weather is horrific. i totally recommend walking him with another dog. maybe a friend , relative or go to a dog park. yorkies are pack animals and they duplicate behavior. happy training. |

| bunjee was like that too. i just bring a potty pad with me whereever we go. i put down a potty pad outside and he'll go on the potty pad, outside on command. then slowly remove the potty pad out of the picture. |

Then she came back in and went some more on her pad. I'm hopin with better weather she will go out more.

| I think that we're asking alot when we ask our dogs to only potty one way and then we turn around and ask them to change it completely. Someone else from Canada asked the same question as you not very long ago. I'll ask you the same question as I asked her: are your sure you want to change this? Come next fall, when it gets cold, you may not be so happy that she then only wants to pee outside!?!

| i'd agree with FirstYorkie too. i also think it's very confusing to our little ones when we spend so much time to potty train on potty pad and then throw them off by adding outside to the mix. my bunjee is first and foremost potty pad trained. he'll go on command on a potty pad whether the potty pad is inside or outside. at times when i don't have a potty pad with me, a few sheets of paper towels will do. i've never actually "trained him" to go outside. for a long time, he'll hold it until we get home and run for the potty pad when we do get home. on the few occassions he does, i let him finish, i give him praise and a treat. so now, when we're out walking, he's more likely to go when he needs to, rather than holding it until we get home. consistency is always key when training a new puppy. i think it's best to find a good potty training plan and stick with it. if you want your puppy to start going outside, just be prepared for her to stick with the outside regardless of the weather. |

| I have another older Bichon - and, my pup immediately pees wherever the Bichon has. So - I think if you can get your pup around an area where other dogs have pee'd.... she'll pee right away... Carol Jean |

| Pee pad? Great! No problem! Beanzie love to go pee (and poo) on my bedroom carpet! I've gotta really watch her! She also only will pee on the pad when it's clean. She refuses to go on an already peed on pad. (can't blame her) BTW ~ Pee pads are best priced @ Walmart! (learned that from YT members last year) Saved me a TON of $$!!! Petco is like $20-something. Walmart is 12 bucks for 50 - great deal! One more thing, my dogs hate to "go" outside if it is raining or grass is wet...and I live in Seattle! Yorkies...gotta love 'em!
