i'd agree with FirstYorkie too. i also think it's very confusing to our little ones when we spend so much time to potty train on potty pad and then throw them off by adding outside to the mix.

my bunjee is first and foremost potty pad trained. he'll go on command on a potty pad whether the potty pad is inside or outside. at times when i don't have a potty pad with me, a few sheets of paper towels will do. i've never actually "trained him" to go outside. for a long time, he'll hold it until we get home and run for the potty pad when we do get home. on the few occassions he does, i let him finish, i give him praise and a treat. so now, when we're out walking, he's more likely to go when he needs to, rather than holding it until we get home.

consistency is always key when training a new puppy. i think it's best to find a good potty training plan and stick with it. if you want your puppy to start going outside, just be prepared for her to stick with the outside regardless of the weather.
