| Peed in bed After realizing pad-training will not take off, I got Spookie to go potty outside. She is being taken out every 4 hours and did not have a single accident for 2 months. A couple of days ago, while the door outside was open for her to come in and out, she climbed into bed, where she sleeps with us and peed her heart out. Of course she got punished the same way she was for accidents months before. Maybe she wanted to "claim" us or see her "limits". I am not sure. A few hours ago after waking up and running like crazy around the place, she had another accident. This was more like an accident, because she woke up and ran around. She still got punished because on other occasions with same circumstances she would not lose it like that. So, now I am wondering what is up with the little one. I also have a theory that I am not spending time training her new tricks as often as I did even a month ago and maybe she just needs more of that stimulatory bonding? I am open to suggestions. BTW, she turns 7 months next week. Last edited by SolnzeUSB; 04-07-2006 at 06:31 PM. |

| Stewie has peed in bed before. May I ask, do you or anyone else play rough w/ her in bed? Or play tug of war OR play anything at all in the bed?

| Maybe she just had a couple of accidents. It's hard to know exactly how much water she had and how often she pee'd those days prior to having her accidents. I think that when she does this - if you just continue to remind her that it is a "No no no" (or do whatever you did while training her) she'll stay trained and try and do what pleases you. I don't think dogs deliberately pee to get back at us or to push their limits. Sometimes with potty training - we just have a setback now and then - and just have to continue with our training for a while longer. Keep reminding her - and give her the benefit of the doubt for now. Sometimes something like a urinary tract infection or something she ate or drank may have caused her to have less control for a while. Good luck - Carol Jean |

As far as having a UTI, she has no symptoms. I will stick with encouraging her outside and discouraging inside. Heat? I think she may be a bit young for that. ight be wrong, so I will keep an eye out on her. | |
