| ![]() That was such good advice on potty training. your pups breeders were not very responsible. I have been extremely lucky. I rescued my 1st female at 4 yrs. old. She was only a breeder & lived in a crate. only took 2 days to potty train her to pads & outside. Two mo. ago, rescued an 6 yr. old male ----same thing 2 to 5 days all potty trained to a pad and outside/ he was dirty at his 1st home .Only takes showing him something 3 x's & he gets it. so incredibly smart these little Yorkies. Just don't allow them to outsmart you !!!!! A well trained dog is a joy forever !!! |

| ![]() Being that we knew Kricket was going to be a small yorkie and that we had had another 6pound yorkie before her (Gizmo) we had pre decided to litter box train! The winter weather is hard on me so a little yorkie! And yes I spoiled her.... Still do! We when we took her out we had puppy pads that we would put down in the bathroom. My mother in law used to be so amazed at how she would just get up and run down to the bathroom and go like people. And like people she liked her privacy! Now we are on two acres and after having her in the yard walking about with us she piddled outside! She has become a DOG out here! Unlike in the city where she would go out for a walk and come in to piddle! Both our Yorkies have been tricky... Both were given a treat for going and both faked the piddle act just to get the treat! Now that was alarmingly smart to us mere people! I find they can be very stubborn when they choose... One day at a time! |

![]() ![]() ![]() AMEN!!!!!!! It is at a point where I am uncomplicating my life and if it aint easy and less stressful, I dont fool with it! I have to add I dont usually take my pups to other peoples homes.....that solves a lot of problems that can arise. | |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() \yes I have taken to the belly bands when I visit, as my Yorkie is more prone to mark indoors at a strangish home. My male BRT not at all. I also don't take them to homes where I personally don't know how well behaved and trained their own animals are. The few times a year we socialize outside of our "doggy friends", I usually keep our animals at home.

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I am wondering why my boys pee on their blankets or towel on the floor. I trained them on pee pee pads and I think they must think the towel or blanket is a pee pee pad. I can't figure out the dog mind! What are they thinking! They will pee on any rug I lay down. I guess they can't tell the difference. I use No More Marking by Natures Miracle and they still mark! I don't know what to do. |

| ![]() Pixie will only use the pee pad at my house. If we go anywhere I have to take her outside to pee. There is an amazing spray I use:Amazon.com: Wondercide Eco-88 32 oz Pet Stain and Odor Remover E8801: Pet Supplies make sure you do exactly as they say. I usually soak up the pee then I steam clean it and then I use the spray.
